The dumbing down of the GOP

Why aren't more conservatives disgusted that their party nominated a person devoid of qualifications for the vice presidency (again)?

Disgusted with the nomination of unqualified presidential candidate

And why aren't all Americans disgusted that the Democrats nominated a person devoid of qualifications for the presidency? Obama can't even run a meeting of his Senate subcommittee. How can he run this country? Who is behind this neophyte's candidacy? Suspect that he has been propelled by people who are hungry for power and Obama is their "cat's paw."

You are correct. Yet the same is true for the other side. So one needs to ask one's self, which power-hungry group would most likely benefit me and mine and my country? The slight edge goes to Obama.

joe conason - elite in his own mind

joe, I'm sure you don't realize it, but you're not as intelligent, superior, as you think.

You're condescending...and it's pitiful.

Quayle, Palin and the Republican Party's legitimizing of UNHEALTHY SHAME in concert with the phony Churches

Actually Quayle was selected because he wouldn't challenge a Bush 2, G.W., it turns out, for a future run for President.Jeb was the family's 1st choice. G.W.continued the Quayle precedent of talking like a buffoon and with Palin it's now more than acceptable, even a requirement, for a Republican Party candidate.Unhealthy shame has been institutionalized by the government's politicians and the phony pretend CHRISTIANS-CHURCHIANITY-RELIGIONISTS. Unhealthy shame is what the FIG LEAF FROM THE GARDEN OF EDEN means. One moment Adam & Eve are naked without shame and the next instant they are shamed for being naked.Created shame. It is transferring the shame of another to someone else, deflection. It is creating shame where non exists, just someone claiming that shame exists when it doesn't. This is a favorite ploy of the Fundamentalist preachers whether they be christians, muslim or jewish. An example, which is readily available on TV daily, when the preacher insults and abuses their congregation[s] of fools by accusing them of being sinners and calling them foul names whom can only be saved by the church. These preachers then beg for money from the fools they have just insulted, abused and lied to and the fools give them money. The preachers use unhealthy shame, shamelessly, for this extortion. A fool and his money is soon parted. Take it from someone who knows, me. Unhealthy shame has been institutionalized, it is co-dependence a mental illness. Also, accusing someone or someone taking on the legitimate shame of another person is unhealthy shame.

Sarah Palin - more dumb than GW Bush?

Whatever makes anyone think that Sarah Palin (as V-POTUS or even as POTUS) would constitute a greater "dumbing down" of the GOP than GW Bush (and Gang) have very successfully accomplished over the past eight years??

Hey look it's Norbitboy!

Hey Norbit!

Another inconsequential snipe?

Killed any puppies lately? Hey, how 'bout we crush the hopes and dreams of millions of people by electing a republican. Good idea?

I said this exact thing to friends yesterday

When the heck is the right going to stop pushing ignorance, intolerance and a lack of the command of basic language as "good qualities." Considering how many right wing bozos are pushing "English Only" legislation maybe they ought to take a look at the English skills of the current dolt in the White House and the dolt who wants to be VP.

What the hell is wrong with these people. Any adult watching Palin during the debate could see she repeating talking points, had no real knowledge and was using "folksy" to cover her lack of in depth understanding of the issues. And yet the sanctimonious hypocrites of the right, people like Peggy Noonan, Pat Buchanan and Bill Bennett is allowed to slide. These people are greedy jerks who would elect a chimpanzee as long as it insured their wealth.

Americans need to wake up and take these greedy creeps to task for what they have done to the middle class.

Dumb is the not the sole property of anyone

I am a secret super Jew in orbit on our nuclear battle station. I am also from the future. Liberals fear and hate me. But since we control the world, there's nothing they can do about it.

Stupid Prevails !!!!! (cue evil chortle)

Anotherview, McCain collaborates with the enemy in Vietnam with treason .

He violated the UCMJ,Uniform Code if Military Justice, by divulging more than his NAME, RANK and SERIAL NUMBER to the enemy, Vietnamese. He admitted to being a war criminal and his treasonous admission was broadcast by the Vietnamese. This is well documented at brads blog.com. His Admiral Father had the UCMJ changed after McCain's treason to shield him from prosecution for his crimes, not for his war crimes of bombing Vietnamese civilians. McCain's treason far exceeds the attempt to create unhealthy shame and attribute it to an other Obama. Palin has created shame, which is unhealthy shame, where non exists and then deflected the unhealthy shame Palin created to another, who was like seven years old when the Ayers incident happened. As for his treason in Vietnam McShame has never accepted responsibility for his shame there, which would be healthy shame. Instead McShame went whining to his Admiral Father rather than accepting responsibility for treason.

All Republicans put down your keyboards and report to your nearest Marine Recruiter!

You voted for Bush twice, which means you voted for an oil war twice. Some quotes:

Republican Senator CHARLES HAGEL: "People say we're not fighting for oil. Of course we are. They talk about America's national interest. What the hell do you think they're talking about? We're not there for figs." (Speaking at Catholic University, Sept. 24, 2007)

Former Federal Reserve Chairman ALAN GREENSPAN, in his book The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World: "I'm saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: The Iraq war is largely about oil."

Democratic Senator JOHN TESTER: "We're still fighting a war in Iraq and people who are honest about it will admit we're there over oil." (Associated Press, Sept. 24, 2007)

General JOHN ABIZAID: retired commander of CENTCOM: "Of course it's about oil, we can't really deny that." (Speaking at Stanford University, Oct. 13, 2007)

Your love of oil, war, and jingoism demands that you fight the bad fight. You can vote for McCain and Palin over there, wherever they happen to dispatch you on America's coming third and fourth wars, should you manage to elect the latest duo of imperial warmongerers (in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, of course!).

Sing along: "Over there, over there, send yourselves, send yourselves, over there, say the Bush voters are coming, the McCain voters are coming, and you won't come back (ever), since it's (never) over over there!"
