The fraud in Thursdays's debate was Joe Biden, a man who cheated in law school and has spent his adult life in the rarefied air of the US Senate. Did you hear Senator MBNA call for bankruptcy reform? This was the guy who voted for the pernicious 2005 Act ( only 2 other Dems did the same) and is credited for getting it passed ( all the while his son had a nice consulting gig with MBNA). Bankruptcy reform under Obama-Biden? It's the only thing that makes semse for strapped homeowners but it will never happen. Shame on Gwen Iffel for letting him off the hook.

Back to the question. Nothng as far as this Republican can see. Both are attractive, articulate, excellent at delivering programmed messages. Neither has the capacity or experience to lead a great nation. When Democats rejected "seasoned leaders" like Biden and CLinton and Dodd at the primaries for Obama in swaddling bunting, they opened the door for light weight but demographically perfect candidates like Gov Palin.

Why would we take a chance on more lies by electing a person who talks more and says less: a professional politician who puts his mouth in gear before his tiny mind has time to figger things out. Good ol' Blabbermouth Biden...just what we need instead of Sarah (a breath of fresh air on the political scene).

The media, pundits and comedians are all convinced that Sarah Palin is an attractive airhead who is not qualified to be on the ticket. No campaign in history could afford to buy the media that has been devoted to making this case against Palin by her critics. So why on earth do so many American voters still find her appealing? Simple. They look beyond the sound bytes that highlight her shortcomings and they see a real person who has lived her entire life on a middle class income while shouldering her responsibilities with integrity and class. She is an authentic ordinary American in an age when almost every national politician is a multi millionaire. Many ordinary people appreciate that distinction, and find it more significant than anything Palin's critics can offer to suggest she is not capable of being our leader. They think that she is not perfect, but at least she is one of us, and having one of us in power in Washington is a change they feel is overdue.

It used to be called populism, and there used to be some of them in the democratic party, but sadly the democratic populists have all been replaced by smooth talking savvy millionaires. Many American people who are ready to demand change in Washington wonder if we can count on another smooth talking savvy millionaire to deliver it, even if he had a difficult childhood.

They're not disgusted because frankly they don't know any better. These are not the Republicans of Eisenhower, who understood sacrifice and not just ideology. They are the Republicans of Gingrich and Limbaugh and Rove. That's all you need to know and it's just delightful watching them howl as they march off the cliff. It is now clear that the Republicans are bankrupt. Let the new Republicans arise, free from bible-bangers and Southern idiots, and then we'll talk.

In the meantime, Obama and Biden are going to govern this country better than at any time since Clinton.

I think people are missing the point about Palin. She is actually the perfect President for a pathetic ex-superpower. America, with its gutted industrial and manufacturing base, bankrupt treasury, rotting infrastructure, overextended military, and increasingly ignorant and incompetent population deserves to be led by a blowhard like Palin. She offers like-minded Americans the soothing cliches they need to maintain their delusions about America's God-given superiority. She is of course a laughingstock; however, as America becomes increasingly irrelevant, who cares? I'm still supporting Obama (I haven't given up completely yet). However, I suspect that racism will prevail over reason, and we will continue our slide into the abyss with 4-8 years of more Republican misrule.

You ought not, however, cherry pick the bits of the article that you like and ignore the rest. . IMHO, you have taken what the article says out of context and thereby distorted it some--not a lot, but some. Also, parts of the article don't reflect well on Palin: for example, the use of the passive voice to avoid assigning responsibility for Bush's mismanagement.
