"Clinton gets hammered for every lie because she's a habitual liar. And unlikable, too. Duh."
Oh, of course! And Obama is getting hammered for every elitist remark he makes because he's a big elitist. And John Kerry was hammered for every un-American thing he did because he's un-American. And Al Gore was hammered for evey big fat lie he told because he's a big fat liar. Its so obvious! Thanks for straightening that out.
And McCain, of course, has been praised far and wide as a straight-shooter because he ALWAYS tells it like it is. And Bush was portrayed as a down to earth, plain spoken man of the people because - obviously - thats what he is. Its all so clear now.
How can a army officar be anti-american? Explain how that is possible, please. To a former soldier.
If someone offers their life to be sacraficed to the alter of american ideals (so to speak), how can they possibly be unamerican?
MAy have differant values. I have my own issues with kerry, from his yale ties to his wifes ties and so on. I have my own issues and think he's a closet republcin, just like clinton.
But unamerican. You republcain sabotuers are teh un-american ones. Divide and conquer may be en vogue now. Sabotage for profit and fun may be what rush your master demands. That doesn't make you any less of a republcain tool.
..."She is ambitious. Isn't that one of the fruits of a leveler playing field that the sixties and seventies and the Feminist Movement promised?>>>"
She ambitious all right, but feminist like women to get ahead on their won experience, not piggy back if off of their man. Besides Hillary has don very little for the woman's movement over the years.
Your wife does to need to defend her vote for Hillary. I'm a a woman, a feminist but did not vote for Hillary because she is the wrong woman. Besides voting for Hillary because she is a woman is a very stupid reason.
Yes we need change, but not Hillary. Hillary only offers CLINTON PART TWO.
like ShawnWhiteMale and TexasGirl. These are Limbaugh messenger boys and girls, attempting to get Clinton and Obama supporters so mad at each other that if their candidate doesn't become the nominee, they would either sit out the elections or vote McBush. You can tell a wingnut troll several ways, one of which is by who they identify as "far Left". In reality, there's no Left of any kind in the Democratic party. Even the most "progressive" US Democrats would still be considered as moderate Right anywhere else in the world. "Hard Left" or any other kind of "Left" in the Democratic party or anywhere else on the US political scene is like the Unicorn: a nonexistent fairy tale.
That's how those news folks keep their jobs, Joe. The media = the establishment. They want more Bush. Can you blame them? Can you imagine them to pay their employees NOT to favor the guy who represents More Bush?
Sorry, Rufus, I was being sarcastic. I don't think Kerry is un-American in the slightest. I also don't think Hillary is a habitual liar (at least anymore than any politician is)
I'm confused. Joe here talks about how the media is all about giving a free ride to the right. If you listen to Rush Limbaugh he calls it the "drive by media". I think the entire media, be it Rush or Salon, has no credibility as objective bearers of information.
I looked up your other posts to see if you were a rush troll. Your last one didn't make sense, in the full context of your other posts. A little touchy today with this stuff.
My bad. i need to take a vacation :)
Maybe all this will seem ridiculous after i get back.
What have they ever done? They managed to win control of the both the House and Senate in 2006. What have you and Bill done? You managed to lose control of both the House and Senate in 1994.
I'll take the liberal activists at Moveon.org. They have a track record of winning.
Every time you try to cut this Hillary a break, she comes back and does something outrageous like this. It's honestly hard to tolerate her at this point.
If you're on Oahu, say hi to Mokuleia for us (turn left at Haleiwa, just before Dillingham). We lived there '70/71 when we were newlyweds. And we thought Nixxon was a jackass. How far we've fallen..... aloha. tom
Here's the secret, Kent: The Media doesn't give a shit who's in office, really (unless, ofcourse, there's the danger that somebody truly radical might get in). Nor do they give a shit about objective reporting. What the media cares about is interesting storylines that conform to the established stereotypes. It works like this: All Republicans are automatically possible racists and bigots. However, if they manage to avoid being labelled racist or bigoted, they're also automatically considered both "authentic" and in touch with "real American values." Democrats, on the other hand, are not generally in danger of being called racists or bigots, but ARE automatically assumed to be both phony and "elitist," unless through some act of sheer political charisma they can convince everyone that they're not. None of this has ANYTHING to do with what they actually say or do. Quotes and anecdotes are cherrypicked to conform with expectations.
Hey, ChillyDogg...the country is going to hell because of people like you who can't spell and who are just angry little folks with a computer at their disposal. You're a moron...women are not running, a woman is--learn to read and write before you vent your tiny spleen.
You're right. the media, oligarch driven, is amoral, and will winnow the story down to the lowest common denominator, and the slimiest story line. That's part of why we have Hillary and Obama: the media loved the fact that, either way, they had "a story", the brother or the bitch, either way was fine with them. Once the choice is made, it's sprinkles for Straight Talkin' John and carbombs for Obama. Our shot is that the country has gone so far downhill even the media can't spin it away- and that Obama will have the presence, and the presence of mind- to ignore the rats nibbling at his ankles and keep his eyes on the larger picture. Can he do that? I hope so, but I wouldn't bet the rent. The most predominant American trait is disengagement. They don't want to know hard truths- and there are a lot of them. To lapse to cliche, this is indeed a tipping point. Iraq, the environment, the economy- we know what four more years of closet fascism will get us. Let's find out what four years of a brother from another mother will bring us. I'm on board, in for a penny, in for a pound. tom
