"The broadcast media in particular are often lazy and uncreative and chatter about what they read in newspaper, see on the Drudge Report, or what they're fed by the campaign staffers. Not too many Americans pay much attention to this stuff."
I wish that last sentence was true but I don't think it is. Even if most Americans don't actually pay attention to the soulless robots at the top of the media food chain, the information they recieve is highly influenced by them. Call me an elitist, but most Americans don't have the time to follow politics closely. Most Americans definitely don't have the time to research issues in depth on thier own. Instead they get thier info in short synapses and summaries - an editorial or analysis here or there in the local paper, late night comedians, etc.. All of these are HIGHLY influenced by the Chris Mathewses and Tim Russerts and thier like. Those people decide what's important and how its interpreted. All the chatterers underneath know very well that if they stray too far from the established narratives they make themselves "unserious" or outside the mainstream - in other words, career death.
It's shyster, you moron. Don't trade words with adults when you have a grade school education. There has been no demonstrable left bias in the media for at least thirty years, and Billary the Bitch and Obama are swimming in the same Hannity, Fuxxsnooze, O'Lie-lie, Washington Times, NY Post cess pool. So Billary needs to man up and deal with the turds. You could help her, there shawnie baby. It's your native habitat. And how 'bout your talking points on today's big endorsements- none for poor widdle Hillary- from the Democrat who knows most about the economy- Reich- and the Democrat who knows as much as anyone about foreign policy- Sam Nunn. Hillary didn't get none. shawnie's brain is just dumb, and his typing finger's getting numb. Loser.
Obama should go on an unrelenting offensive against the mainstream media. First, many people hate the mainstream media for all the reasons Joe Conason wrote about, and more. Second, the mainstream media are John McCain's base -- hit them, and you're hitting McCain at the same time. Third, this is what the Repugs have done for decades, and it's paid off for them handsomely; the MSM are their lapdogs.
And maybe most of all, Obama should attack and discredit the mainstream media because they fully deserve it.
Clinton gets hammered for every lie because she's a habitual liar. And unlikable, too. Duh. Continuing to call the Tuzla story "misremembering" vel sim. is, at best, remarkably naive.
Also, McCain's been getting a fair amount of flak for labelling all Muslims extremists as Al Qaeda. It's true that the press is comparatively ignoring him, but why is that surprising? He's not the story, and he will continue to fly under the radar until the Democrats pick a nominee.
This is not a right-wing/conservative media conspiracy, folks.

The Huffington Post has Hillary Clinton on tape disparaging Barack Obama and his support from MoveOn, saying that the organization "didn't even want us to go into Afghanistan.
I've tried to stay out of the pie fights of late, but as a long-term defender of MoveOn and other progressive organizations -- this is completely unacceptable.
"MoveOn opposed military action in Afghanistan" is a Republican talking point, articulated specifically and purposefully by Karl Rove:
Read on. Hillary has morphed into Rove, now really showing her true colors of exclusion and elitism
I don't know where you got the idea that I was pro-Reagan and if even half of what you said was true then why push your luck by electing another 'Walter Mitty' and while it's true that the fictional character didn't do any harm (well for one thing he was FICTIONAL and for another he wasn't the leader of a superpower with his fuinger on the nuclear trigger)a non fictional version could do a great deal of harm.
You left out some of the biggest smelliest turds in that cesspool: the New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC. But then, the fact that you refer to Clinton as "Billary the Bitch" shows that you're happily swimming in that cesspool yourself.
Exactly correct. I made the same point, and not nearly as cogently, on another thread. Ignore Fuxxsnoose, ABC (a branch of Fuxx after Wednesday), and the rest. Reject public financing. Use the web to raise megabucks, buy ad time, and go directly to the public. Johnny McLame, pretend hero and serial adulterer, lobbist lapdog, can have his funkin' dunkin' sprinkles. Screw all of 'em. Go direct.

I'm ready for that one. If he does come on board he should know he has my fingers at his disposal. I've been fighting these guys for years now. The help of a presidential candidate would push it over the top. Hopefully he wasn't being a comedian on colbet.
When it's on, it's on. And it's on. We got the gop and fox on the run. Now is not the time to open the door. Now is the time to end their reign of terror. They had their chance. They wasted it and only valued making huge sums of money. They have more responsibility than that.
It's not a free speech issue. It's a legal issue. to incite violence or criminality over the airwaves is a federal crime. Because the doj is filled with gop cronies does not change that fact.
The only think keeping them on is the fear of what will happen if they are thrown off the air, or working at us weekly where they belong. Screw them, I say. they had their chance. They wasted it. Anyone who still watches them (on the right, the left watches them to enter the mind of the madmen) is to far gone and need to be shown reality. At least give them another choice, but fear hate intolerance facsism. Once freed they could continue their battle on their own on tv radio or internet (within the laws). With their own arguements and own minds. Time to shut down the brain of the borg and see what happens. Then you really see what the gop is about. If that fears you, either side, then you should know the gop are fascists.
