  • I'm breaking my self-imposed exile just this once...

To finally tell all you Hillary supporters out there what my wife loves to say to people that really fuck up something wicked...

    "You reap what you sow."

Or, a more appropriate phrase from my father-in-law would be:

"You made your bed, now you gotta sleep in it."

Hillary and Bill will do whatever they can to win, and they will use surrogates to say ANYTHING to try to derail Obama's campaign. Granted, Obama is using surrogates to do the dirty work for his campaign too, but at least he doesn't have to convince his supporters to ruin their reputations just for the sake of getting the 1st. black person in the White House.

You folks claiming that she has a point are COMPLETELY seeing a bunch of trees while missing the forrest right in front of you. This Ferraro comment was NOT an accident, yall...it was a cold and calculated move to try to play the race card without looking obvious about it...and lookey what happened, everyone with at least half a brain in this country saw right through it.

And to all you over-50 feminists that have struggled for decades against a male-dominated society...I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your hard work to close the gender gap for women in our society. Ann Richards and Barbara Jordan would be proud of you...but do you have to scorch the entire f'ing surface of the earth to make sure you get "one of your own" in the White House? Isn't making a difference for today's women enough? Or do you really think the Democratic Party OWES this moment in history to your precisious Hillary Clinton?

Someone joked about the Hell's Grannies crashing the convention in Denver earlier in this forum...I think that's an entirely appropriate characterization of that audience, judging from the shrill objections these ladies constantly made at the Democratic caucus I sat thru last week. The funniest thing about all of this is that as Hillary and her advocates get more desperate, you'll probably be seeing more and more of this crazy shit happening...and despite it all, Obama hasn't lost his cool yet...at least not like Ferraro.

Honestly, I might have joined on the Hillary Clinton Road to of Inevitability Tour at one time, were it not for the fact that the Clintons have bungled their goddamn campaign for months now, just barely snatching themselves from the jaws of defeat at just the right time...against someone that actually has more to say about our future potential as a country, as opposed to just making promises about protecting us from future threats, making veiled promises to help this constituency or that. Bush has been giving us that lie for YEARS now, why would I want to spend another 4 years hearing the same thing...from Hillary?

  • 47 States

Gosh I wish I could trust your sorry blind ass enough to make a healthy wager, Shawnie boy. McLame, in the face of this war, this economy, this job market, this housing market,is going to carry 47 states shows the only state that counts: your state of denial. Outside of the confederacy and the heart of the intermountain west, Honest Johnny won't win shit. And we lived ten years 400 miles from anything resembling a city, and voted the same way we do now. Big Bill and His Big One was our fourth choice in 92. He proved us right by pissing away the house, the senate, the poverty safety net, our moral authority to the point the Bushit got close enough for the Fascist Five to appoint him. So, screw the Clintons before they screw us. Again. without lubricant. Oil prices are too high. Apparently, so are you. Baaaaaaaaa: the call of the hillbots, wooly quadrapeds who'll believe ANYTHING. Nighty night.

  • Right you are, Joe....

Mentioning race is a dirty trick because the subject of race is so sensitive. And it's so sensitive because America is still struggling with racial issues. Race is less talked about but still is more tender an issue than, say, religion. After all, we could talk about Romney's Mormonism (and even call it weird) in tne national press, and we could easily speculate if a Mormon could win the Presidency in print and other media. But race is another issue - we're still far too (ashamed? embarrassed? intimidated?)unresolved about the issue of race. It's still a very raw nerve.

Which is precisely why Obama cannot, and never could WIN a general election. Thanks for finally seeing your country for what it is, Joe. Let's put down that latte and get behind a Democrat that can win. John Paul Stevens deserves at least that.

  • Conason puts his lips together--and blows

"Until lately, Ferraro was an admired waxwork, a symbol of national progress and a brief entry in a child's textbook."

If some people hear a "dog whistle" in Geraldine Ferraro's comments about Barack Obama, what tune is Joe Conason whistling when he refers to an older white woman as a "waxwork," one whose historical status can be of interest only to children?

Apart from the slur, for which he should apologize, Conason's observation about Ferraro is basically accurate (except perhaps for the "national progress" part). And so is Ferraro's observation about Obama’s candidacy.

Take another look at the video of Obama’s victory speech in South Carolina. Behind the candidate, who has just won 80 percent of the African American vote (but you’d better pretend not to notice that, unless you want to be branded a racist, like Bill Clinton), a crowd of supporters breaks into hypnotic chants of “Race doesn’t matter! Race doesn't matter!”

    Positively Orwellian.

  • There is no "too low" for the Clinton Jihadists

It's time to finally put a stop to those latte liberals, dumb coons, fascist caucusgoers, people who were to stupid to not vote in a primary that were told to not vote in because it wouldn't count, sexist piggies, etc. 40 states can go to hell, and 35-40% of those ten states that did go for Hillary can go to hell.

Hillary has had a heartwrenching, hardscrabble life; and to let that Ole Debbil Obama stop the Coronation must. not. happen.

Call Ed Rendell and make sure all Clinton voters get 47 ballots each. Call Dean and make him disqualify the America-hating Caucusgoer's votes. Do what you must. Jihad allows for no compromise, ever!
