@abe
You say: "I think KcM's point was any article about Obama on an anonymous internet forum right now is going to attract people who are just looking to spew their hate about him, whether they be Clinton supporters or right-wing Republicans."
You're essentially saying the same thing KcM said: anyone who doesn't approve of Obama is unbalanced, full of hatred. Neither of you is allowing for the very real possibility, in fact the reality, that a huge number of Americans don't favor Obama for a variety of reasons, all of them valid in their own minds, the great majority of them likely having nothing at all to do with hatred. Like so many Obama supporters, you're sitting in moral judgment on anyone and everyone who supports anyone other than Obama. The rollout of what's looking more and more like Crusades 2.0 is making some of us more than a bit queasy.

"You're essentially saying the same thing KcM said: anyone who doesn't approve of Obama is unbalanced, full of hatred."
Sigh...there you go again. That's pretty obviously NOT what either Abe or I said. In fact, we said exactly the opposite. What we said is that the angry sorts who post vitriolic screeds on comment boards are no indication of Clinton supporters on the ground, and thus of the election as it stands in "middle America."
You seem to have a continual habit of ginning up reality to suit your pique.

KateTex C'mon Kate
Don't you see how easily your words are flipped around:
[...] in fact the reality, that a huge number of Americans don't favor [Candidate X] for a variety of reasons, all of them valid in their own minds, the great majority of them likely having nothing at all to do with hatred. Like so many [Candidate Y] supporters, you're sitting in moral judgment on anyone and everyone who supports anyone other than [Candidate X]. The rollout of what's looking more and more like Crusades 2.0 is making some of us more than a bit queasy.
I know there a plenty of idiots out there, more than enough to go around. Some people in this very thread think their entire life has been repudidated due to criticism (warranted or not) of Ferraro and failure to vote for Hillary.
I happen to know that at least 9M voted for Hillary over Obama. That doesn't make them Obama Haters. Trying to count the kooks on the internet and separate them from 'the normal' people, doesn't sound like a fruitful undertaking to me. Try looking at the posts on Politico.com. I'm crossing my fingers that's not a represntative sample!

By the way, KateTex.
Regarding Rezko and that Tribune article, did you happen to read their follow-up editorial? They seem pretty happy about what they heard.
"U.S. Sen. Barack Obama waited 16 months to attempt the exorcism. But when he finally sat down with the Tribune editorial board Friday, Obama offered a lengthy and, to us, plausible explanation for the presence of now-indicted businessman Tony Rezko in his personal and political lives.
The most remarkable facet of Obama's 92-minute discussion was that, at the outset, he pledged to answer every question the three dozen Tribune journalists crammed into the room would put to him. And he did...
Less protection, less control, would have meant less hassle for his campaign. That said, Barack Obama now has spoken about his ties to Tony Rezko in uncommon detail. That's a standard for candor by which other presidential candidates facing serious inquiries now can be judged."

A short resume for someone to run for president
I think the whole point of what Ferraro was saying is that no white man or woman of any color would be running for president with such a short resume.
He might be a great motivational speaker, but it is a short resume.

Look up Lincoln. Wasn't even in congress when he was a compromise nominee in 1860. A serial loser of elections. Stone crazy wife. Tall, kinda homely. Gave a great speech. Nah, just words. Read some history. Lincoln is not alone. The president with longest resume was Nixon. Very much like our friend Dick, whose resume would run pages and pages. TS Eliot was a bank clerk. Genius doesn't need a lot of time inside the beltway, hobnobbing or knobjobbing with lobbyists. Hillary's resume? More time in the senate than Obama, and that's it. You wanna count first lady, or First Minnie Pearl of Arkansas? Thin. Bottom line: he's beaten her by every measure, and will continue to do so. Stick that on your resume.

the author needs to apologize
How utterly sexist and absurd. She said HE personally has benefitted by his race and that has been evidenced in every article ever printed about how historic his candidacy is and how uniting his race is. If not his race that is earning him 80-90% of the black vote, than what? Suddenly a woman came out and said so and she gets pounced on as a racist. Please, you know damn well she didn't say or infer in anyway that all black people are lucky! It sickens me that you call yourself a journalist and make such a cognitively impaired argument. And while this divisive tactic seems very effective for the obama campaign to use on any democrat, just wait till this backfires in the general.
