  • Precisely why I think they're tied to Rove

Of late, I've been tempted to think there's a coordinated effort involved, because so many of these messages closely parrot one another in content and theme (SHOW US YOUR TAX RETURNS, etc). The style and level of writing in most of these messages has changed noticeably in the past few weeks and is certainly not typical of the average NYTimes reader

Exactly what the Limbots used to do and their writing style had the exact same illiteracy. I still believe that this is a bamboozled effort of Rove's and that the Obama campaign foolishly mistook the enemy of their enemy for a friend. Which is anothr reason I don't believe he is at all interested in the welfare of the Democratic Party, it's people, or progressive values. As if his divisive campaign weren't enough to convince one.

  • @LBL

Yes, LBL, really, I'm sure the non-event tripe you cite like getting some legislation passed for potential racial profiling in traffic violations was a real real real big comfort to single black mom's living behind the poverty line in South Chicago that had never owned a fkg car in their lives.

I mean really really, I'm sure the stuff you cite that Obama was supposedly able to accomplish all by his lonesome of course in a SOLIDLY DEMOCRATIC LEGISLATURE was worth so much more to blacks living behind the poverty line than the 33% raise the Clinton's brought.

  • KateTex

Thank you KateTex. Now we can have a meaningful conversation, which will benefit both of us. I get that you are concerned that Barack Obama does not have the same experience, but I am befuddled as to the gravitas.

Nonetheless, here is what my position is.

    1. What experience does Hillary Clinton have, especially in foreign policy which makes her more fit to be president?

    a. She has been an elected official for only 6 or 7 years from the State of NY which was never her place of resident, but more by virtue of her being the spouse of a former President.

    b. The Irish government, just today, laughed at her claim in bringing peace to Ireland. She just happened to shake a few hands and share some meals with some heads of state. They said that she was more like a cheerleader than anyone who negotiated anything, much less peace in Ireland

    c. Her trip to China for a women's conference where she proclaimed that women's rights are human rights is admirable. But that was a speech in a women's conference and did not amount to anything that she did to change or negotiate with the Chinese government.

    d. She has been to 80 countries. I have been to more than 80 countries in the world. Does that make me an expert in foreign affairs? Yes, if I had academic credentials and no, if I was just visiting the countries. She has no academic foreign policy background either.

    e. She counts her 8 years in the White House as experience. That is indeed specious and stupid in the face of it, because that implies that Laura Bush too is qualified to be President plus she has four more years on Hillary Clinton because she also had 4 more years of her father-in-law Bush the first. This kinda sounds like birthright and monarchy.

    f. Apart from that, Hillary Clinton for over 20 years worked for a corporate law firm in Arkansas that never did anything in terms of community development or improving education, or women's issues.

    g. Hillary Clinton voted for the war in Iraq. So one can argue that even if she has the experience, which she doesn't, she did not make the right call. There are many Democrats like Ted Kennedy, Patty Murray and others, who did not vote for the war in Iraq and they have their credibility intact. Hillary Clinton also sponsored the flag burning legislation, ban on land mines, and other military stuff that convinces me that she is not really ready to end the war and once elected will get right back in with the Bush and McCain crowd. The girl who was in the 3am ad has now come out and said that she did not know that her image was used and she is voting for Obama.

    h. I support Barack Obama because he does have better judgement and experience. I would not ridicule his 20 years service in community development. He has proven to have exceptional organizational skills like bringing a diverse cross section of society together. He is inclusive. Hillary Clinton is exclusive. Barack Obama will govern with a bottom up approach. Hillary Clinton will govern with the top down approach. Clinton thinks that only she can solve the problems, Obama knows that we all can come together to solve our local and national problems.

    i. Most importantly, Obama has run a pretty clean campaign. Clinton has gone negative with speculation and innuendo

OK. I have many more but will not bore you.

  • Sorry, Shawn. Try again.

That 33% number you keep repeating is 100% FICTION. Follow the link I posted, find the real number, and then you can sit at the big folks' table and join in a real discussion. Or you can just keep spouting lies and hoping someone will be dumb enough to take you seriously.

By the way, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny's are not real either.

  • Clinton..

...has grandma gravitas, and Kate likes her candidates to be quiltlined. Whatever makes you happyKTX.

  • Preposterous, As Usual

Yeah, Karl and Barack are tight from way back. the Rover feeds Obama his lines. Everyone knows that. the truth, which Shawn wouldn't recognize if it came to the front door of his trailer, is that the fascisti have longed, nay panted in ecstasy, at the prospect of running against Hillary. She has negatives, most not of her own doing and not deserved in the least, that make McLames job easy. Nearly half the country wouldn't touch her with a ten foot chad. It's a shame. She's a very bright, articulate, well prepared candidate. But she won't divulge her taxes (which is utterly relevant because she gave her own campaign five million dollars. Where'd that come from? Could be entirely innocent. Prove it.) She won't disclose her phone logs for her alleged eight years as de facto "co-President. Sounds like the Bush administration: we'll let you know what we thing you need to know when we're good and ready, which will be..... uh, we'll let you know later." The only rational explanation of the Clinton behavior is that they were complacent, in no way anticipated what Obama would become as a national figure, and are flinging dung as rapidly as they can to try to ruin him. Not defeat him: ruin him. I retain some respect for Ms. Clinton, but that's rapidly diminishing. Her campaign, a shoe in four months ago, has more than blown their lead. They're far enough behind that passing Obama's pledged delegate total before the convention is virtually impossible. Apparently, the Rodham Regiment can't handle the truth. PIty, that. And thanks for your gracious acceptance of my apologies. Shows the size of your heart.
