I have also wondered if the press is going to continue to be satisfied by Obama saying he made a "boneheaded" mistake in joining up on the real estate deal with Rezko.

Please do your research before making grand pronouncements about “past political mistakes.” I’m sorry for the terseness, but for God’s sake – if all of you who keep tossing around “Rezko” really wanted to get to the bottom of it, surely you’d have bothered reading the comprehensive article on this very site showing rather definitely that there’s nothing to the damn story.

  • @Kate Tex

I appreciate your reasoned response, Kate. And apologize for my own snideness.

However, too little, too late? Jeez, many of these were accomplishments from the 90’s. And as a resident of Illinois, I can tell you that he’s made a difference for me.

I also urge you to reconsider your conclusion that the worst perpetrators of rudeness are from the Obama side. There's plenty on the other side, too. Heck, look at Shawn NM!

  • Naked Hatred from Clinton supporters

Katetex : "Any leader's followers give us important clues about who s/he is and what s/he stands for. I simply have not seen the naked hatred which issues from so many Obama supporters issuing from Clinton supporters. And I've been doing one hell of a lot of reading message boards lately."

    Not 15 minutes earlier:

ShawnWM: "Why don't YOU take your 800 sign0ons , your race-obsessed hiney and stand out in the rain with your mouth open until either you die, or the Obamateur loses to McCain in a landslide whichever comes first. You can then promptly whine about how it's "whities" fault you put up an unelectable candidate. . . There doesn't seem to be anything left of the Democrats besides racist black slimebags and lunatic left fringe."

Nope, no naked hatred here. I don't begrudge you your personal belief that Hillary is the right candidate and Obama is not. I am perplexed that you seem unable to let allow any of the evidence to the contrary to at least temper some of your distaste for Obama, but to each her own. However, you can't in good conscience claim that many of the Clinton supporters here aren't just as unpleasant and distasteful as the Obama supporters who keep hurting your feelings.

  • @madamf

You say: "After reading your back posts, I feel that your language and depiction of people who support Barack Obama, are quite racially charged. Don't see you as a liberal either. You write in coded put downs and dangerous generalizations."

You're free to interpret language any way you want. You're free to criticize those you don't begin to know. You're free to accuse others of talking in code. You're are also free to find what you go looking for, whether it exists or not.

How terribly clever: obamateur. who coined that? Your dad? Rush? Michael Savage? I hereby retract Nazi, and insert fascist. Far be it from me to perpetuate the notion that one must be a German or an Italian from the mid twentieth century. We have our own crop. Hugs and kisses, Neutered Male. What a tool. love, heywood

  • Who's this shawn shithead?

    KateTX's klansman cousin?

  • sorry..

I just got back in the swim of the discourse and it seems like KKKateTX and Shawn of the blackshirts are acting all indignant and shit.

  • KateTex

Please tell me in your own words why it is alright for Hillary Clinton to sing praises of John McCain and ridicule Barack Obama who is a member of her own party. You still have not answered why that should not even be a campaign issue. Give me your thoughts on it, for the simple reason that I might see this infraction in another light.

The jury is still out on you being a self styled liberal Democrat.

Your response to my post was a chicken's way out of explaining how and what you write. After all, you are what you write. That is how you are judged. I am not the only one who is stung by your coded racist comments.

It is not fair to you right now for being piled on. Your feelings are hurt. But think how often you hurt the feelings of those who do not look, think or act like you. Your posts are full of self righteous indignation.

  • @KateTex

This by no means applies to all those who post on this site, but it's happening too often for comfort, and it's practically guaranteeing I will never vote for Obama. The ugliness I've seen coming from his supporters has been simply stunning and it has left me in tears on more than one occasion.

I don't understand what some insulting supporters of Senator Obama on a "Letters" site in a tiny corner of the internet has to do with voting for Senator Obama or not. I'm sorry, I really don't. No one here, as far as I know, actually represents Senator Obama or works for his campaign. So no one here speaks for him in even an semi-official capacity. So what is the connection?

I have no doubt that were he here, that Senator Obama would denounce and reject the personal attacks and most scurrilous remarks made by some of his more rabid supporters.

And I'm sure Mrs. Clinton would too of hers.

  • KTex.

Is avoiding the question. So what else is new?

  • Here's it exactly: what's wrong with the Obamateur.

I apologize for not responding to your post. But I have read about Obama's accomplishments and to me, they're too little, too late. I just can't see where he's made any substantial difference for those who could've used the support

This gets to the heart of the matter exactly. We can suffer through 10,000 more posts from the oink crowd screaming about nazis and racists and all that suffering tripe and then trying , moronically, to project their behavior on to others. However what it really comes down to is the Obamteur made NO DIFFERENCE in the lives of yes, poor black people, when he had the chance to. Instead he lined his own pockets and sided with Syrian slumlords who even turned the heat off on poor black people in Chicago winters. How in the name of all abandoned logic was that helpful to blacks such that they should be alienating themselves from people who were their allies for years and years.

One particularly repulsive poster, was one night asserting, ridiculously, the Clinton's had done "nothing" for black people. I proved to this vile person that during the "Billary" Administration black median income had risen a full 17,000 dollars a year and that blacks living behind the poverty line had fallen by over 33%. (and that all of these gains had been lost by the Bush Administration).

You would think a sane, rational person concerned about the welfare of poor blacks therefore would be

    1) solidly supporting a return of the Clinton Administration and

    2) doing all they could to keep John McCain out instead of ensuring his victory.

Then again, these may be elitist blacks as out of touch with hard-off blacks as the fringe white Obamateurs are with the working class of white Ohio.
