Mike Huckabee's affinity for religious extremism is no secret. But is biblical law at the heart of his presidential vision?

  • Islamofascists or Christofascists -- What's the difference?

What is the difference between Regressives like Hucklabee and the ayatollahs and other Islamic religious leaders? Answer: The Islamic leaders still have the power over their subjects that the Christian churches once had, and their current zealots covet them.

It's no accident that that modernism in the West coincided with the decline of power and influence by the Christian churches. It's no accident that the Arabs, Persians and others of the Middle East, once the center of scientific and artistic development following the decline of the Roman and Greek empires, began to decline in direct proportion to the rising power of their Muslim religious leaders.

That's what Huckabee and his Regressive allies don't realize. They plan on imposing their will on the rest of us, and then using the might and power of the United States to impose their will on the rest of the World. But as happened with the Muslims and others throughout history, our might and power will decline in direct proportion to the power and influence of the Religious Regressives.

Modernity and Theocracy are not compatible.

And waiting in the wings will be the other powerful still secular powers such as China, Russia and Japan.

  • If This Goes On—

"If This Goes On—" is a science fiction short novel by Robert A. Heinlein, first serialized in 1940 in Astounding Science-Fiction and revised and expanded for inclusion in the 1953 collection "Revolt in 2100". One of his Future History series, it recounts a future theocratic American society, ruled by the latest in a series of “Prophets.” The First Prophet was Nehemiah Scudder, a backwoods preacher turned President (elected in 2012), then dictator (no elections were held in 2016 or later).

Let's hope Heinlein's glimpse of the future was wrong.

  • Believe You Me

In the Beginning, there was Fraud. All fallacies logically follow. And the Bored spake, let "Bong Hits 4 Huckabee" be writ on the South Carolina flag. Then burn it.

  • The christian mullahs

They're all hypocrites. They all secretly crave the very power of the mullahs that they publically denounce.

Our founding fathers were knew the power of religious tyranny, they saw its effects from the Church of England and the corrupt hierarchies of the Catholic and protestant establishments. Now these establishments have slowly chipped away at the wall between church and state, and put in windows. Windows will be replaced by sliding glass doors and afterwards ....

History will be written by the winners, all the religious fanatics use patience and fear. They patiently wait until they can exploit your fear(s).

  • People who support Huckabee should read "A Handmaid's Tale"-

they really should. Then again, it would be worth seeing him become the Republican candidate just so that we can see him faltering miserably in debate against Clinton or Obama.

  • check the water

Someone's putting something in the water in the USA. Where do all these nuts running for President for the Republican party come from? Huckabee is Bush with a functioning brain. That might sound good, but someone like Bush with a functioning brain is even more dangerous than someone exactly like Bush, that is, an imbecile. Bush's brain has been Cheney for his entire presidency. Surely having one Dick Cheney weaving his web of evil in the white house is enough. Of course, there is a crucial difference: Cheney only worships war and money. Why then do I have this queasy feeling that Huckabee is another 'crusader' under his preacher's suit? As President he would combine the worst qualities of both Bush and Cheney. Bush's religous mania and Cheney's war mania.

When Huckabee says there's no freedom without religion, we all know which religion he means, don't we? Baptists believe that anyone who isn't a Baptist will go to hell. So much for freedom of the religious kind. The rest of the field are worse.

Giuliani is appalling and definitely of the far right in spite of all the fuss about him being too 'liberal'. John McCain is so out of it he still thinks the Iraq war can be 'won'. Ron Paul is a reactionary who wants to travel back in a time machine to the good old days of tax-the-poor and people dying from appendicitis because they have to save up the money to have surgery. Fred Thompson is so right wing he's almost comical and would make an even worse President than Bush. Mitt Romney is a Mormon and has other religious axes to grind. Where is the separation of church and state? It's obvious that Bush and Cheney are going to leave the Republican party in the same state that John Howard left the Liberal party in, in Australia. In ruins. The price you pay for letting extremists hijack your party and your policies.

  • Dear Mike Huckabee:

My wife is a bitch - I mean witch(!). When you get to be President, please reinstitute that chair dunking thing they used to do up in Massachusetts. You remember.

    (She really is.)

  • Hucklebee is a Nut-klebee!

As a Scripture scholar and professor I take great exception to Hucklebee's ridiculous interpretation of the Bible. He still thinks it is the Word OF God and not the Word ABOUT God!

Taking his stupidity one step further by wanting to change our Constitution makes him an extremely dangerous candidate - for anything.

We should all be grateful that our Constitution prevents anyone from interpreting it to conform to his NOTION of religious law.

Spare us from this pseudo-religious creep!

  • Holy Hucksterbee to take oath to uphold the Constitution that he campaigns to eliminate.

The fact that Hucksterbee has to sneak around to engage these pretend christian churchianity-religionists zealots is a clue s to what he's up to. One way is to use the very Bible[KJV] and what is has about the anti-Christ, which is not against Christ but pretends to be Christ and Hucksterbee has all the earmarks to fulfill that role,of the anti-Christ.Of course, he'll declare himself as Christ's heir by claiming that god is providing the miracles necessary for him to claim that mantle. He will quote the Bible better than his supporters and will misquote it to fulfill his propaganda. The gullible fools that believe him won't know the difference. The one Worldism is the most obvious sign. This is what endears the anti-Christ pretend christians to the NEOCONS's they both embrace a One World system, New World Order vision. It's a natural marriage of convenience between the NEOCONS and the phony christians. Fear is the glue that hold these two groups together, continuous fear from the pulpits to the MSM, and the government. This is the Mililtary-Industrial-Congress-Churchianity-Religionists Complex. The mission of this Complex is One Worldism and it will be paid for by the American taxpayers. The phony pretend christians preachers[the Harlot of the Bible] and their false doctrines[the Fornications of the Bible] are subsidized by the government as they are tax exempt and the gullible fools donations are tax deductible. The American taxpayer is funding their own enslavement which is evident by our Constitutional rights being eliminated.
