Two new bios purport to unmask Hillary Clinton. Yet they offer few new insights and repeat tired clichés about the senator and her husband.
  • Hillary Not so Great

There are many things that make Hillary much less desirable as the Democratic nominee. Off the top of my head:

her support for the Iraq War

Ruppert Murdoch had a fundraiser for her.

the hubris and stupidtity she showed in the healthcare reform debacle

her shady connections through her old lawfirm to a corrupt Indonesian billionaire (Greg Palast has the story on this)

her former position on the Wal-Mart Board of Directors

her cowardice in refusing to aggressively pursue protections for National Security Whistleblowers (See Sibel Edmonds' scathing essay on the subject)

the insurmountable negative perceptions of her in the minds of half of the electorate

Hillary represents the best chance for the GOP to to retain control of the White House. Gore, Obama, or Edwards would all be better choices. She arouses such antipathy, whetehr for the right reasons or for the wrong reasons, that to nominate her would be colossally stupid on the part of the Democrats.

Salon shouldn't waste time defending her at this point. Her candidacy must be sunk. We can't let the GOP pick our nominee for us. We must stop Hillary!
