Pelosi, the Neocons, the Israel Lobby and Peace
The Neocons and the Israel Lobby are very concerned that Pelosi's attempts to inject some sanity and diplomacy into American foreign policy might interfere with the goal they have worked so hard for since their "success" in invading Iraq to enhance Israel's strategic standing in the region: War with Iran. This explains their venom when attacking Pelosi.
In the future, with a democratic president, peace may be possible in the Middle East. This, however, assumes the future president can stand up to the Israel Lobby and their Christian fundamentalist allies. As Jimmy Carter said, the Israel Lobby is certainly not interested in peace and it will smear any candidate/president who tries to work for peace.
