and the best part...
...is that it's child's play to prove that McCain is a lying scum-bag. Fred Kaplan's work on the subject of North Korea, and the Agreed Framework, proves McCain a brazen liar, and I can't wait for Hillary to slice him up over this when the time comes. If she has the ovaries for it.
Because if ever a man deserved to be hoist on his own, lying petard, it's McCain. He just sacrificed whatever respect I might have had for him in this latest bit of brown-nosing the right.

This just in: Russia and China won't go along with our Chimp's call for tough sanctions
See, this is where refusing to pursue diplomacy for five years finally ends up: When you need the support of our so-called allies, they ask, "We'd like to help you George, but gosh, it's been so long since we've seen you around here.
George, in 2001 you got in a hissy and told everybody in the world to fuck off. You stomped out in a huff and said, "If you're not with us, you are against us."
Now George. You see how that works? You're all full of yourself. You fancy yourself a cartoon western cowboy. But life isn't like that George. Haven't you learned that yet?
You told us, "It's my way, or the highway."
Well George, it looks like you're the one walkin' the highway now. All alone.
Quite frankly George, we here in Russia and China don't really give a damn about North Korea. Kim ain't aiming his nukes at us. If he ever did, we'd french fry his ass to a cinder in about ten minutes.
So Georgie boy, we kind of like watching you struggling to get out of that huge bag of pride you zipped yourself into five years ago.
Oh and just one more little thing, George. The next time you lay hands on the leader of China and physically push him in the back, the way you did last time, we're going to give Kim permission to really really fuck with you!
You get it now, Chimpy boy?

The reality of the situation doesn't matter
What matters is the perception of the voters. And I have seen very little to lead me to believe that most voters (on either side) will be confused by facts. Their minds are made up.
Look at it this way: Which seems easier to you? Thinking, or blaming Slick Willie? After all, it is hard to argue that there has been much thinking going on over the last three national elections.
If the nation seems to be in danger of experiencing a spate of thinking, turn up the fear. Pyongyang with a nuclear capability is just scary enough to freeze the synapses of vast swaths of the American electorate.
Never forget, all they have to do is to get it close enough that a little cheating will tip the scales. It has worked so far. What is different now?
P.S. Nothing would please me more than being wrong. IhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhopeIhope...

The Republicans are the responsibility party
...and to Republicans, responsibility is defined as 'blaming Bill Clinton.'

Flailing Madly
The Bush team and all their surrogates are striking out like madmen and hoping that they'll make contact.
Blame Foleygate on gays. Blame failures clearly to due to lack of diplomacy on Clinton. Blame the number of dead Iraqi civilians on flawed, liberal studies.
Just keep doing it guys and hope you hit pay dirt, because time is running out. With each desperate swing and a miss the poll numbers sink, and the amount of Americans talking politics goes up.
Judgment day is a comin' George, and it ain't the kind you were hoping for.

Being a political realist
I reflected on the Presidents spur of the moment press confab, and his recent speeches where he labels the Democrats as the Party of cut and run.
Does not bother me as much as it would have 2 years ago. You can not recycle old material. You have to come up with a new line of bullsh*t to fool the rubes. And judging by the body count in Iraq, it better be high quality organic fertilizer, not the cheap stuff.

Clinton Bashing
How ironic that Clinton has actually done more good for the World with W'S second Father--God of course is His first Father--Than the President has done in 6 years with the might of the entire Government at His disposal!! And He has by the way--DISPOSED OF IT--Maybe W boy is a little jealous!!!! Tommie27

Let's remember
That no one knew who Chris Matthews was until one day he stood up on his desk and screamed "Clinton Lewinsky !!!!!" 13 million times for 5 years running, nonstop, every show, every guest, every word every breath. Clinton bashing makes men and women famous and wealthy. It always works for the empty headed asslicking shills who bash him.

Failure of the "One Percent Doctrine"
Someone shared a line recently from Ron Suskind's book about the hubris of the Bush Administration. Summarized, the line said that hubris is, among other things, a loss of perspective, a buiding up of oneself on such shaky claims that even the slightest questioning is an affront to the fragile construct that's been built. It's a fundamentally weak position. Now that's been proven true given the desperate tactics being used by the GOP. In my state of MA, where a Democrat is running possibly the strongest campaign for governor that we've seen in years, the Republican incumbent is trying to bash him as "soft on crime". And it isn't working. He has a double digit lead in the polls, and the experts are saying it's his race to lose. I just read that the incumbent has taken to harrassing prospective voters by phone. If that's not desperate and a sign of the ignominious failure of the GOP's whole worldview and approach to governing, I don't know what is. Then we have the president himself, unbowed, defiant as ever, insisting that Clinton's policy on N. Korea didn't work (as opposed to his that's working like a broken Swiss watch), and looking like Capt. Ahab in the process. In less than a month, if current trends hold, we'll see the denouement of this latest battle for our American soul end with a triumph of reason and sanity. And I will be the first to cheer.
Note to the Shrub: the whale won.
