Hitting a Nerve
This article sure seems to have hit a nerve judging by the number of responses.
Here is my two cents worth.
This reminds me so much of the necklacing (Rather's words from an overseas interview) of J.H. Hatfield when he wrote the book Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the making of an American President. This excellent book was written before Bush was chosen as president and it covers pretty much all of Bush's shortcomings. The book was not only recalled but it ultimately led to the alleged suicide of the author. I recommend you read the interview with the author on Democracy Now.
I am no fan of Rather, he lost me when he told David Letterman that he was ready to do anything Bush asked of him after 9-11. But I am happy that someone with money and fame is willing to take it on instead of going quietly into the sunset. All the wheeling and dealing of this administration needs to come to light one way or the other. Their shooting the messenger with the media's help has gone on long enough.
