Damage control
I wrote in response to an earlier article that as a lame duck, the administration's only constituent is itself, making it more dangerous than ever to the rest of us. As the Libby situation indicates, Bush and Cheney have turned their backs on the American people in favor of devoting the balance of their lame duck careers to serving only themselves. Tampering with Libby's sentencing merely is a suggestion of the further damage they are likely to inflict on our country and its institutions if they are permitted to remain in office to the end of their terms.
