Behind Bush's "new way forward"
A battered group of neocons delivered the president his latest war plan, letting him reject the grave warnings of the Iraq Study Group and deny that we're losing the war.

  • The abyss awaits

    Mr. Bush needs to define what has already been accomplished in Iraq as victory. Then we have a big party once everyone gets home.

    Possibly re-installing Mr. Hussein as leader of Iraq with apologies would be a bright idea -- he seemed to have a Tito-like influence.

    Everyone's happy (aside from the quarter-million innocent dead who never did jack fucking shit to us), we send Bush and Cheney out to play golf a lot over the next two years.

    In a few centuries the rest of the world may forget what we did.

    Alternately..? An overwhelmed and psychologically shattered Dubya order his hive-like military to nuke some poor city somewhere. Or Israel detonates one of its nuclear weapons in an American city and Bush decides to enforce martial law -- CNN would have every taxpayer believing it was those darn Arab terrorists again.
