  • It's about Mexicans!

First of all, understand that bigoted politicians are not going to come out and say that they want a lot fewer Mexicans in the United States. They are not quite that stupid. But consider the following: when an immigration bill was passed, it was posted on the Congressional website in English and--guess what--Spanish! Was it posted in Italian, French, Polish, Vietnamese, Farsi, Mandarin? No. Which border is being guarded by the Minutemen and photographed while they are being interviewed? Right, it's Mexico. When a congressman says to let the prisoners pick the crops, what crop pickers is he referring to? Right, it's Mexicans. What is the connection between the immigration protest and "primero de mayo?" What language is that? Well, it's supposed to be Spanish. It is therefore obvious that a non-Spanish-speaker coined the term for the express purpose of linking the first day of May with Cinco de Mayo, although the correct term would be "uno de mayo." So it's about Mexico, and Mexicans crossing the southern border. There may be Americans who are worried sick about illegal Canadians, but they are not congressional bigots who want to get these brown people out of America. If you are Mexican or of Mexican descent, please understand that this issue is about you. The idea that congressmen would even talk about revoking American citizenship is so despicable that every American should be in the streets. Listen--Republicans spent years with their vicious gay bashing and few people spoke up. They attacked "liberals" and no one spoke up. Everybody suddenly decided to be "progressive." Now they are after Mexicans. If you can't read the writing on the wall, you aren't paying attention.
