Are you a pussy?

When Army Pvt. Adam Lieberman tried to commit suicide, his mother had to paint over his suicide note. See the photos here, as well as the "Hurt Feelings Report."

Welcome to republican America

The republicans think that the real world is a John Wayne movie. Wanna know why this coutnry is in such deep shit? The last page gives you a pretty good idea. The party of "less government" wants to dump all the tax money they don't give to the Uber-Rich into the military so we don't look like "girlie men". I don't see how this country can ever come together when half of us never grew up past the age of 12.

Really Fort Carson I mean really

Yes I have a personal experience with a young man that was on suicide watch there and saw how they treat them. Its the igorance of the mental state of a soldier and how they deal with suicide attempts. I believe they need to have more intellegent people watching over them instead of just their commanders. I do know we have a lot of suicide locally not sure why, maybe they should do a study.

Thanks Fort Carson, the guys in Iraq already don't want to transfer here because they know they will be right back were they are for another 15 months, you just added to the plate.

To the Pvt. Trust me there is life on the other side in the real world as soon as you get de briefed Life is Good.

The real pussy

The anonymous coward who wrote the 'Hurt Feelings Report' is the real pussy.

Reminds me how I felt when Timothy McVeigh (a Veteran) did his dirty work....

... I had the same feeling reading this.. We worry so much about that the evil that terrorists can do from without but the real evil, the real cancer is from within. Can't remember who said this, but it seems appropriate:

"We have seen the enemy and the enemy is us."

Shame on them all for letting the situation with Pvt. Lieberman get so far, and a special room in hell for the pea brained, masochistic, bullying assholes who let his mother paint that wall. Can we do some psychological profiling here and start getting rid of these people. They should never have been allowed to enter the military in the first place.

Yes, maybe Pvt. Lieberman never should have enlisted either. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the victim of a some overzealous, quota driven recruitment pressure.

Hope he becomes the man he is meant to be.

Unbelievable. Just f'n unbelievable.

What a sad and disturbing commentary on the state of our Army. I'll remember this next time I here some chickenhawk politician extolling the vitures of our "heroes overseas defending our freedoms."

Remember, these kids the Army is fucking up are going to be society's problem as soon as they are shipped back home, but that doesn't seem to concern them much.

Glad I never enlisted, and will encourage all my younger relatives and friends to do the same.

Hurt Feelings Report ...

I have to say it seems like the authors of this write up are rather drastically mis-describing the "Hurt Feelings Report" and might be wrongly holding it up as evidence that people at this command don't care about their people(s' mental states).

The authors make it seem like this report was meant to make fun of or belittle people who are having trouble coping after battle (e.g. - battle stress, PTSD, etc.). To me, the "report" looks rather much more focused on making fun of people who report others for saying mean things to them, which happens a lot in the military.

In other words, it is making fun of tattle tales.

That might be juvenile (lots of things in the military are), but it doesn't seem to me to be making fun of people seeking help who are having suicidal thoughts or trouble coping with PTSD or battle stress, etc.

Holy shit

That "Hurt Feelings Report" - man, what unbelievable ASSHOLES. If that's the attitude prevailing in the military, it's easy to see how all those atrocities they've been accused of, happened.

Jesus, human beings really SUCK sometimes.

@ablonde

We have seen the enemy and he is us.

That was Walt Kelly, writing in his comic strip Pogo. Classic phrase, which it behooves us to remember always.

This is just heatwrenching

I'm still crying as I write this. There is no portion of this story that is not upsetting. After 7 years of war and only the occasional glimpse of a casket, the real measure of this war can only be achieved through the stories surviving soldiers. These stories support the reality that our government cares nothing for its soldiers.

It seems so cruel that these men are not supported with their emotional struggle. Whose mind can remain unscarred by the brutalities of war? Who else can understand that but their fellow soldiers? Is it that acknowledging the damage means you can't ignore it anymore and never go back to your old life? Why are these men left unassisted in their despair?

A few years ago, my father lost his job and committed suicide. It was a terrible shock, he never asked for help or indicated he was in crisis. If he had been surrounded by professionals who should have seen the symptoms in him, and they neglected to give him proper care and support...Rage would not be a strong enough word to describe how I would feel. I would feel as though they murdered him.

Which is why these pictures are so heart scalding. Imagine trying to eradicate your child's last attempt to explain themselves to the world, wiping away the accusal of their murderer, painting over things too long ignored.

How revolting

Seems that our troops still haven't gotten the message that we need to support our troops.

I feel pity for the writer of that hi-larious report.

@jschultz

You sir,are how those military "real-men-wanna-be's" think and function.

I would suggest that president Obama should not close down Guantanamo, but instead fill it with all those "Little Men" like that SOB Kohler who made the poor mother paint over the wall to save her son. Then we should make a "volunteer"list of all the mothers that went through similar situations(I am sure there will be thousands)to pull "guard"duty and have those real pussies get a dose of their medicine.

I am lucky not having to go through this with my sons, but I would gladly volunteer. Those pathetic bastards have NO idea what a pissed off mother can create to torture them.Geneva convention rules - not so much for these guys.I would let them "live" up to that "feelings report" only I would hurt more than their feelings.

I feel better already.
