Get ready for the Grand Old Tea Party takeover

The loony wing of the Republican Party prepares for a big day in Tuesday's elections

Teabaggers: America's Taliban.

The GOP is going back to doing what they do best (besides helping the rich get richer). They are purifying themselves into the party of rightwing lunatics, thereby ensuring a generation or two of Democratic dominance.

Ask yourselves this question: do you want the party of teabaggers to be in control of our nuclear arsenal? I sure as hell don't. Makes you wonder if people in Pakistan look at the United States and worry about our version of the Taliban gaining control of The Bomb.

What's the big deal?

A conservative winning New York 23 is not shocking. The infighting that preceded the election is. If the republican continue to veer towards the right, they will become even more of a afterthought party, especially outside the south. And there will probably be a split in the two major gubernatorial races. And considering that Corzine comes from the world of Wall Street, whose approval ratings would probably be below that of Congress, I'll take that. If the Republicans would look at the tea leaves - Marijuana Legalization and Gay Marriage gaining momentum, some kind of health care reform likely to be passed, they would realize that their type of red meat politics might play in segments of the country right now, but ten years out, they are going to be even farther out of step with the mainstream. And I still have not heard one republican name a candidate who could win a national election in 2012. Palin, Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty, Jindal? Give me a break. The Republican party is still in disarray, and New York 23 proves it.

Amazing, liberal never get tired of selling the same old pile of dung, but than, they don't really know anything else!

...."No matter who wins tomorrow, it's bad news for the Republican Party," one Democratic official said. "If the Democrat wins, then the factions within the Republican Party -- there's going to be mutual recrimination. If Hoffman wins, the extreme wing is going to be completely emboldened, and the moderate wing is going to be completely alienated and they're going to bolt."

-------------------------

Since last November, the media and liblognuts, have buried the republican party. SURPRISE! The republican party is not dead! Tuesday we could see two important blue states turn red with the blood of defeated democrat governors by "republicans"...and conservative republicans too! Not the wishy, washy "moderate" rino's that vote for every democrat piece of legislation or "cross the aisle"..a one way trip to the left..to "compromise" as dear Sen. McCain loves to relate, but old fashioned Ronnie Republicans. Guys who believe in cutting taxes, cutting spending, and chopping down the prickly thorns of the bureaucracy.

I hope the "moderate" (who's kidding who.."liberal") wing of the GOP goes off on the ice and disappear.

They won't be missed. The last thing we need looking out to 2012 is another Dole or McCain.

As a New Jersey resident, I can't wait for the polls to open tomorrow, and join with my neighbors who were called names last August when we shook up congressmen. It may be close but we will get out the vote to get rid of Jon Corzine, and send a message to NJ congressional democrats that their days are numbered. Even with Obama taking another day off from presidential decision making to get on the campaign trail for Corzine, will have minimal impact with his visit to Camden and Newark, two solid democrat serfdoms.

We can only hope ...

... that the lunatic fringe (represented on this thread by JaaZee) captures the Republican party; that will doom the GOP to extinction.

Hooray for the loonies!

Yes, they are the scum of the earth. Yes, they are F*x Nudes worshiping zombies, but we still love them. Who else is going to split the Republican Party like a spoiled watermelon, except for the loonies.

Give them their 3 or 4 loony congressional districts. From what we've seen in the latest Congressional debacle on health care, we've found that Blue Dog Democrats are not exactly friends. And the aluminum foil hat crowd is not necessarily such a bad thing, 'cause they'll make even pinhead Democrats look great.

Purge Baby Purge!

A year after Obama was elected, the conservative base has decided the answer to the GOP's problems is to purge the party of any shred of moderate impulses.

I'm very much in favor of anything that results in fewer Repuglicans.

but old fashioned Ronnie Republicans. Guys who believe in cutting taxes, cutting spending, and chopping down the prickly thorns of the bureaucracy.

Exactly when did Ronnie cut spending and what did he cut? Certainly isn't evident in the deficits which were racked up on his watch. Though he was a big fan of cutting the Wall Street bull loose.

California has had its share of Republican governors, including the Gipper, but I don't see anymore on the horizon. People like Meg Whitman, former CEO of eBay and Steve Poizner, a venture capitalist in Silicon Valley, have both thrown their hats into the ring for the Republican nod. Yet despite their myriad of accomplishments, they can never pass the loyalty litmus test on social issues administered by Sarah Palin which matters to Republican voters in Fresno but that doom a candidate in the general election.

There's a certain injustice evident in this cannibalization of the GOP: Whitman and Poizner made their fortunes in the private sector and they wanted to enter politics. By contrast, Palin became famous through politics and quit to cash in on her fame. And she's got coat tails which Levi is riding off of in his upcoming Playgirl spread. What's good for the goose is good for the gander I guess.

And The Dems Fund The NJ Independent

In the tradition of ethical Democrat election practices, it was revealed today that the Democrats are funding the indepedent in the NJ Governor's race. Corzine is so hated and has so destroyed the state but the only way he can be elected is to put up a 3rd party candidate to split the vote (they learned how that worked when Clinton was elected President).

So the loony wing must continue to slog it out with the gangsters, the dirty pols.

I spit on this column!

it was revealed today that the Democrats are funding the indepedent in the NJ Governor's race.

Are you as outraged that 95% of Hoffman's funding comes from outside the district he doesn't even live in? Probably not. Didn't his acceptance of an earmark while he served on the board of directors of a hospital reveal him to be an imposter (or "capitalist roader" in communist terminology)?

It was easy to go after Patty since social issues are black and white. By contrast, cutting spending is vague and records are difficult to unravel. Didn't Sarah Palin leave Wasilla swimming in red ink? Ronnie never cut a penny and yet many of those who have elevated him to sainthood seem blissfully unaware or simply don't care.
