Congratulations to Sen.-Elect Al Franken. (Not sure of the timing of his swearing-in.)
Side note: For those interested, terkoy is a troll.
...or is that crackling crescendo spreading over this land merely the sound of millions of tiny little heads exploding throughout the Right-Wingoverse?
Now off to run with the bulls in Pamplona (ouch.)
Michael Jackson cocktail, anyone?
..FDR was thought to be intelligent but was liberal scum, sleaze, low-life trash and garbage.

Time to turn off the AM radio and ask the doctor to adjust your meds.
"In turn, Senate Republicans must understand that Sen.-elect Franken's election does not abdicate them from the responsibilities to govern." - harry this war is lost and cannot be won reid
Now that he' got the power, his ineptitude will become even more obvious. It's understandable that he needs the Republicans to provide cover.
Somebody please bite his hook. Mom won't let Terkoy out of the basement until he folds his laundry. Someone please give him some love... it's got to be hard having a micro-phallus.
He never would have let the line about being "number 2" pass in his previous life.
Al was a great comic and will be an outstanding senator.
but was rebuffed by FDR cuz he wouldn't succumb to union BS. Like the Kennedys, FDR was thought to be intelligent but was liberal scum, sleaze, low-life trash and garbage.
"I'd rather have 50 votes and Al Franken as majority leader, than 70 votes with Harry Reid."
Hear, hear! Al is clearly more qualified in just about every way... If Harry had even the slightest inkling of leadership skills, Franken's first assignment as a member of the Democratic caucus would be a pair of hospital visits to "request" that Kennedy and Byrd graciously step aside to open up their seats for candidates who can show a pulse.
His second assignment would be to take a dump all over Joe Lieberman's face!
Coulter, O'Reilly and Limbaugh are very wealthy for a very good reason. They speak the truth and the truth is very painful to you pack of lying libs.
and I heard Al Franken is looking for a lackey. Washington needs more squirrels.
There's no reason to be harsh on Terkoy, or even to pay him much attention. He's obviously a 14 year old boy who, in his adolescent ignorance, finds disreputable figures such as Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, Rush, et al. to be somehow admirable and figures to emulate. In his dorky teenage way, he's just trying to ape their not much more intelligent or credible perversions of the facts, and, given his obvious youth, he's actually doing a pretty good job of reciting their talking points. Terkoy, as you grow up, try to learn that citing discredited sources (such as Coulter) does not suffice for making an actual argument. Hopefully, one day you'll look back on your sophmoric efforts here and you'll slap your forehead and cry out, "What a stupid ass I was!"
But you'll hopefully forgive yourself, because you'll realize that, at 14, we're all stupid asses.
Not sure who is dumber, you or Something Stinks....
Was a Nazi sympathiser that was only won over to the war effort when an easier enemy was dangled in front of his nose (the Japs). I think that it's ironic that Ford vehicles enabled the Communist Soviets to win WWII. That evil old man must have spun in his grave...
instead of Obama copying FDR with all his failed policies.
Whatever Hoover tried, FDR doubled down and repeated it like it was the thing to do.
FDR had no competition (Smith and Willkie), would not let the country heal itself, used a hit list for whoever disagreed with his crap, punishing the likes of Henry Ford.
Reagan killed the fairness doctrine which opens people's eyes to the daily BS in Washington.
Read it and weep as this hate-filled, failed radio host jumps onto the wonderful Congress gravy train. Work, work, work, all we know is hard work.
One fraudulent election after another. At least no bloodshed for Fruitcake Franken. Amazing how mystery ballots just kept popping up from everywhere. Actual ballots probably had to be printed. Iran doesn't bother to do that extra step. But Fruitcake prevailed.
I thought that the last 8 years showed us that the party with 50 votes got their way. The Dems have 60 now, and still nothing will be done.
Bring on the legislation that has already made it through the House like the clean air bill and hate crimes. It's well past time to get these passed.
I suppose "Bedtime For Bonzo" was Ronald Reagan's finest hour...
High-profile loons: Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd. Freaky Franken fits right in.
because maybe he'll call "bullshit" on Obama and his mealy-mouthed herd of whiners that he calls a quorum. Someone has to stand up for the electorate and who better than a guy that is beholdin to none and has nothing to lose? Gay rights? Damn straight! Medicare? Physician (AMA) heal thyself!
"The last eight years have shown us the American people want us to work together. Democrats aren't looking to Sen. Franken's election as an opportunity to ram legislation through this body. In turn, Senate Republicans must understand that Sen.-elect Franken's election does not abdicate them from the responsibilities to govern."
The last eight years didn't show us any such thing, and yes, there actually are plenty of us Democrats who want healthcare and environmental reform (and a lot of other things), and don't give a crap how many Republicans squeal and scream and stamp their little Rumplestiltskin feet about it.
Reid acts like the Senate dog-and-pony show is somehow important to us. It isn't. Results, and only results are important. A lot of us (including myself) are unemployed, and this is a life-and-death issue for us. Back when the Repukes were in power, they only needed 50 votes plus Dick Cheney to do whatever the hell they wanted, and the Dems were too spineless to even threaten a filibuster, much less go through with one.
The only people calling for bipartisanship (a stupid oxymoron) are the right-wing talking heads on TV. Ask your average person on the street how important bipartisanship is, and where they place it relative to getting healthcare for their sons or daughters.
The congress has this echo-chamber they live in, where they all simply assert that the American people think this, or want that, but it's just a projection onto us, delivered ad-nauseum from the right wing media. Nearly 70% of us want government run healthcare to be available, or even more, depending on the poll. We elected Dems in a landslide to get stuff done, not to play footsies with the jackasses who got us into this mess, and are now trying to blame it on us.
I'd rather have 50 votes and Al Franken or Tom Harkin as majority leader, than 70 votes with Harry Reid.
