Al Franken takes his job very seriously

Being the 60th Democratic Senate vote is no joke. But can Franken guarantee Sotomayor vote or healthcare reform?

The letters thread is now closed.

Oh, and speaking of owning up

Youngservative, would you like to take credit for the staggering unemployment rate, sky-high national debt, the death of 3000 at the WTC, and the miserable failure of the Iraq war? Because those things all happened on your watch.

It's just hilarious to see conservatives angrily insist that we liberals have to own up to hastily invented future failures that you dream up on the spot, while avoiding any responsibility for the incredible mess we're in now. Let me guess, it was all Clinton's fault?

You. Are. Done.

Now you're going to have to deal with that.

Al IS smart Period.

Comedy cannot be done by a dummy. All the top ones have been very intelligent over the years. Carson is a great example with a well above average IQ.

Terkoy...

are you retarded, or what?!!! You keep mentioning Ann Coulter as if she even matters. "Some people say"...(to use Fox news most widely used mantra)...she's nothing more than a right wing, loud mouth, air head....full of shit! She fills "believer's" heads with nothing but crap...and you are dumb enough to believe it. She rarely, if at all, uses references...just makes wild, unsubstantiated claims that titillates her readers and reinforces their misinformation.

@Phoenix Woman -- Correct: Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell,

Clarence Thomas, gifted entertainers like Wynton Marsalis. None with a chip on their shoulder like Spike Lee. Obama has that underlying hate for America spawned in the Wright church (which was the wrong church.)

Walter Williams' Web site gives the best insight to the great Depression, with footnotes, criticizing the dearly beloved FDR.

@Palindromedary ( with a star) -- Ann might help you

if you correspond with her Web site. She has no reason to lie and will not be caught plagiarizing like Maureen.

All the facts she cites are accessible on the Internet when she delves into history.

She is a lawyer who has a very intelligent family (her parents died within the last year.)

Three columns were dedicated to Franken stealing the election cuz it bothers her deeply that it can happen here. OK for tinpot dictators but not here. People flew into Iran to vote and for what? A cruel joke.

Ann's books are bestsellers for a reason: they are steeped in facts no sleazy liberal wants to own up to.

Senator Franken

I don't need, expect, or want Al Franken to be funny as a Senator. I want him to be intelligent, a good communicator, and focused on the issues. Fortunately, he seems to fit the bill.

Terkoy

Terkoy needs to find a "news" source other than Fox. Go ahead, broaden your horizons. It won't hurt much.

Finally: Senator Franken

I voted for Al Franken and I'm glad the long Minnesota nightmare of Norm Coleman is over (for now -- he's thinking of running for Gov again, apparently).

Congratulations, Senator Franken. We finally have a Senator worthy of Paul Wellstone.

Youngservative...

You obviously read the same books that terkoy reads! You know this country did just fine for a long time before Reagan and Bush came along and screwed the country. It was the failed economic policies of the Republicans, deregulation, that let the wolves destroy this country. It was also the fault of some gutless Democrats who let them. It was the relentless "anti-worker" policies that made, and is making, this country into a banana republic with a few very wealth people pissing on the rest of us.

Ann Coulter, Fox News, and their ilk will rot your brain and make you turn against your own, and yourself, in favor of those who deviously wring out your wallets into their coffers.

If you want to learn what is really going on I recommend that you go to www.therationalradical.com also known as "Blast the Right" with Jack Clark. They have a great podcast, which is usually always within the top ten on podcast alley and was number 4 the last I looked. There are also transcripts of each show. And Jack always lists all of his sources for each show. He's also got some really catchy "bumper music".

@terkoy, @tufflove

Your schoolyard epithets aside, the only hate-filled failed radio host I'm aware of in your post is Coulter herself. And you seem pretty hate-filled yourself.

Tufflove35: definitely terkoy

@youngconservative

You may be young, but you have all the angry, hate-filled invective DOWN. Good job. You need to work more on the gratuitous grade-school name calling, and haven't yet learned to blame everything (including Michael Jackson's death) on Barack HUSSEIN Obama (mustn't leave out the middle name, son).

Good luck. With any luck, you'll grow into an adult conservative. Unless of course you sign up for the military and head to Iraq with a gun - - - but we ALL know you would never actually put your money where your mouth is.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009 11:22 AM

Terkoy... Not sure who is dumber, you or Something Stinks....

I'm not sure we need to decide between them.

What are the leading sockpuppet theories nowadays?

Tuesday, July 7, 2009 11:28 AM

I would just be happy

if this idiot would guarantee to keep his disgusting mouth shut and show up to vote on time!

@Renegade

staggering unemployment rate, sky-high national debt <-i>

Sorry, your watch on these. And the 'stimulus' a huge contributing factor. Occurred right about the time that Fanny & Freddy's chickens came home to roost on Barney Fwanks gay whorehouse doorstep.

the death of 3000 at the WTC <-i>

OK, we'll own that one if you own the economy tanking. After all, we all know Wall St. panicked (and for good precogniscent reason) when it became clear that jive turkey obama was going to win the election. Then when he did, things got worse not better. Bears came instead of Bulls. The market don't trust democrats, especially ones with Barry's roots.

and the miserable failure of the Iraq war? <-i>

Perception my dear enemy, perception. Oil hegemony as a energy strategy is OK in my book, probably not in yours. Now that the war has been won, let the oil flow. However, all of you liberals will have a one dollar 'patriot tax' added to every gallon of gas you consume. Conservatives will continue to pay the market price.

@ Palindromedary

........yawn.

wealth doesn't equal legitimacy

"Coulter, O'Reilly and Limbaugh are very wealthy for a very good reason."

After reading that comment from Terkoy in response to Robert1014, I'm inclined to agree with Robert. Only a 14-year-old kid (or someone with a 14-year-old mentality) would assume wealth equals legitimacy and base his or her argument on that assumption. Welaht doesn't mean anything except that someone was lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Terkoy, ever hear of Bernie Madoff?
