There's been almost nothing in American media about Iran since Michael Jackson's death; a glimpse inside Tehran is precious.

It's obvious to most of the world that Ahmadinejad is a thug, a killer, a liar, and contemptuous of the people he supposedly represents. He's not really fooling anyone. I don't know why the crooks and tinpot tyrants always think their lies are fooling people. He is trying to retain power through fear and intimidation, but such power is unstable.

These are hard and terrible times for you and I have no advice to give, only sympathy. I hope you will not despair. I hope you will not surrender.

We may all be dead first, but he WILL reap the whirlwind. Those who have scorned justice may not appeal to it in their time of need. And at least it is possible for us to die with our souls intact. It is no longer possible for him. That seems a trivial thing to many, perhaps. The people to whom it seems trivial are trivial to me.

Why we twittered and blogged about it. What the hell else can we do? How do you like this biscotti?

I talked to a cousin in Tehran, he said young people are very depressed and seem to not care what happens to them and they are ready to go back out to protest. They go on the rooftops and scream Allaho Akbar...Where is Mousavi?

Thank you for writing. The only news I read about Iran is that a conservative Mullah a friend of "Oh my dinner jacket!" (That's what they call Ahmadinejad on US talk radio shows.) has claimed that the two Iranian citizens that worked at the British Emabassy are going to be tried and this has caused a negative backlash from the European Union in general and British Prime minister in particular.

Keep on writing, I can not get enough news from Iran. I am presently reading the new book by Ms Moaveni called Honeymoon in Tehran. I am not sure if it is banned in Iran. Take heart, the world has not forgotten you.
