When does profit, Wall street and business as usual take a backseat to natural empathy for our fellow citizens? These are not rocket scientist questions. Any person who cannot see the need here is without human decency. The Republicans and some Democrats, feeding at the table of moneyed medicine and big Pharma do not have the American people’s best interest in mind. At some point, winning the next election, money and being in power must be set aside to save the lives of people who are at risk of dying for no other reason than the fact that they are broke. Enough is enough! Profit is not nor will it ever be an means that justifies the end. As citizens of this earth we owe medicine and medical care to others. It is not a privilege--it is a right!

We have enough to hate each other over; do we really want to add to those things the question of what diseases get cured? what diseases get ignored? what behavior disqualifies one for health care? who gets health care and who doesn't? who lives and who dies? What do we do when political biases cause corruption that goes beyond mere theft, but actually causes the death or injury to those who don't agree with the bureaucrats in power? Along with all its other obvious problems, government healthcare is inherently divisive. It's bad enough dealing with government getting your car registered, imagine dealing with that same personality when it involves your health.
