The winds of change blow everywhere.
have been informative. Looking at both rallies ans interviews. It appears the younger, wealthy educated are supporting the moderate opposition candidate. The younger women in this crowd have a much different approach to their head covering. Their heads are barely covered and they are clothed in the latest fashions, tight jeans, and make-up. They are not so much interested in more freedom for women in terms of their dress, but in equal access to jobs like civil engineers. Women in Iran make of a majority of the student is college studying medicine, science and engineering.
, ladies of Iran. I hope that the opportunity to define freedom in your own terms, not our's, is presented to you.
..give it GOOD to the deformists!
not only their headscarves but anything they want
Watching the scenes of thousands and thousands of women marching in Iran filled me with hope and optimism. I'm-a-dinner-jacket (h/t to Stephanie Miller) is such a dick, it would be a pleasure to see him ousted.
I fear for these women, though. The clerics wield the true power in Iran. Would they be willing to relax their grip on its people and accept women as equals?
But seriously, who cares? It's their country. If you wanted to end female oppression in Iran, just give the women 20 million assault rifles.
I wonder if they're going to let her husband win the election?
