Campaigns of hate that are waged for profit have always been dangerous, and now O’ Reilly has proven how destructive hate speech can be. This is deliberately inciting the destruction of someone, not exercising free speech. The message it sends to society is very troubling- that is acceptable to do this to anyone you don’t like or agree with. Currently, the Secret Service is investigating the ad placed in a PA paper stating Obama should follow in the footsteps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy.
Limbaugh, O’Reilly and others use their narcissistic hate pulpits to galvanize their following and convince them they have the right to tear anyone down. Sending out the hate and prejudice over the airwaves has consequences, and the negativity is palpable in our society. Many people know someone who is adversely affected by listening to the hideous smears, how the negativity turns into anger and affects everyday quality of life. Medical science has proven negative emotion/stress has a detrimental effect on the human body; making it an everyday practice is promoting disease, both mental and physical.
Abortion is a serious issue-to change outcomes right now, start with greater advocacy of birth control. Start campaigns to improve education in schools, churches and homes.
Radical Republican ideology is at odds with quality of life in more ways than one. Abortion merely becomes a stump issue when there is little support for the children already in our broken welfare system. I would like to see the plan for taking care of all children born if there were no abortions. Another plan would include health care and then pro life would truly mean pro life, not just control of live births.
No reasonable person applauds the killing of Dr. Tiller. Neither will reasonable people blame O'Reilly for Tiller's death. You might as well blame all actors for Lincoln's death, or Tom Brokaw for covering Waco which motivated McVeigh. Who knows why disturbed/unbalanced people snap and kill people? Who knows why Leftist commentators and 'journalists' cynically take a tragedy like this and attempt making political hay. Meanwhile the senseless murder of innocent unborn human beings goes on: five killed every minute in America. We have truly become a nation without conscience.

Since he succeeded in his campaign against Dr. Tiller, my greatest concern is O'Reilly's next target. Will Holder have the sense to monitor the show and offer protection to O'Reilly next chosen victim?
Is the FBI putting Christianist hate groups on the No Fly List? Are we doing anything at all to isolate and contain these infections?
O'Reilly is entitled to speak his opinion, and in many ways, I agree with some of the characterizations: Abortion is killing life, and is therefore, "murder" by some definition of the word "murder". However, sending soldiers to conquer another country is also "murder", but we choose not to call it "murder", and nor do we call it "murder" when an action is taken in self-defense.
We don't call ourselves on our own hypocrisies and inconsistencies.
O'Reilly is only the voice of a part of our society. I would argue that that fraction of our population is incredibly self-inconsistent and hypocritical because it does not bother to look at its own wild language, and it is one of the worst (not necessarily the worst) at mincing definitions to achieve some emotional goal.
Calling someone "baby killer" does not make them a "baby killer". But O'Reilly was not the first to use that name. Operation Rescue was not the first vocal opponent of abortion, and O'Reilly was a nobody back then.
O'Reilly is simply a pseudo-news entertainer who learned to capitalize on a segment of the viewers, just like Oprah and Ellen. He is only as responsible as the people who likes to tune in and listen to his BS. His use of phrases like "Judgement Day" is the way he appeals to his audience. He isn't a Christian any more than Rush or Ann Coulter are. No point in giving him more press.
Those of us who want to solve the real problems of abortion need to focus on the real root causes, and not on some attention-seeking stunts.
well all the left wing kool-aid drinkers are coming out of the woodwork, blame it all on o'reilly, on FOX NEWS, typical far left kooks, of course its terrible this far right radical killed this doctor and he will have to answer to a higher up someday, and this doctor also I feel was going to far in doing abortions up till birth, a nearly full term baby, imagine that!! what do you do, kill it when it is brought out, tell me what do you do. but this doctor should not have been killed, he has a family too. this is sad, but you liberals here go nuts when people out there want Cheney to die, I have heard some of the most horrible things coming out of the likes of the kos kooks!!
Most of you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. This is one subject on which I simply want to taunt all of you. I'll still be here, when, years from now, the play-out of this story proves me right and all of you wrong.
I can see why you're so overjoyed to discuss this issue. For the first time in history on this site, you are factually correct. O'Reilly will almost certainly not be held liable for Tiller's death. I'm surprised you're not drowning in champagne by now.
But, unfortunately for you, this discussion does not erase the fact that you've been either factually wrong or morally reprehensible, or (most often) both, on each and every other issue you've discussed here. Bar none. At least you've stopped pretending to have a law background, but apart from that I haven't seen you budge one inch in the direction of the truth.
Which is a long way of saying that when it comes to taunting others for being disgusting idiots, you'll always receive your fair share here.
Enjoy.
