O'Reilly's campaign against murdered doctor

The Fox News star had compared Tiller to a Nazi, called him a "baby killer," and warned of "Judgment Day"

The letters thread is now closed.

boycott O'Reilly

I looked around and found this:

It could work!

O'Reilly's campagin against murdered doctor

Why is it that assassinations are always done by conservatives and not by liberals?

O'Reilly knows he's not in danger of being murdered; people on the other side don't think that way.

@Chowdah

Isn't he, in a sense, guilty of racketeering? Using global media technology to incite violence within a cult-like group? Even murder-for-hire, as he uses codified language to appeal to a very specific population with a predetermined agenda and proven set of actions?

-- Chowdah

The lack of balance here on the issue of human expression is practically nonexistent.

The mirrors are conveniently shattered and the very idea of self-examination has been blindly traded for the false righteousness of dismay and reaction.

Salon doesn't appeal to a very specific population with a predetermined agenda? Sure, it does.

THIS article is actually FORMING an 'extreme' reaction of its own as evidenced by the massive invective elicited toward a controversial figure who did NOT pull the trigger in this unfortunate soul's death.

According to your own logic, this article may be guilty of racketeering.

Sue the Bastards

Concentrating on O'Reilly alone lets Operation Rescue, which had a page devoted to stalking Tiller, off the hook. While both of them can avoid criminal charges for speech, they rules for civil cases are lower. I support suing them.

Sadly, it seems they were careful not to cross the line into criminal hate speech. A perp walk would be satisfying, but not if the didn't engage in criminal speech. I do not support broadening the law, because such things can backfire against other activists. We already see this going on in the criminalization against speech in (alleged) anti-eco-terrorism law and some of the behavior against protestors of the 08 GOP convention.

I do think there should be an investigation of any material support which might have been provided to the assassin, but if it wasn't there, we'll have to be satisfied with moral superiority.

Bill OReilly's Guilt over Dr tiller's Assasination

I wonder what Bill O'Reilly would do if a campign was orchestrated against him in the same manner as he created this one against Dr Tiller. I wonder what he would be doing if his life was under continuous threat, with talking heads screaming for his blood?

I wonder if O'Reilly would ever feel any compassion for Tiller's family? I don't like abortion, but have had friends who have made that choice, and it was always difficult for them, and affects them 30 years on. Still, abortion is legal.

Bill O'Reilly is also legal, and can continue to have people executed, but then wash his hands.

Rupert is the high definition of Anti Trust Law Abuse.

What ever happened to Anti-Trust laws?

Rupert Murdercocksucker owns Fox.

Rupert Murdercocksucker owns DIRECT-TV.

Rupert Murdercocksucker does NOT own Dish-TV.

So why just go after advertisers, when a move to Dish if you want Satellite, or a cable company Rupert Murdercocksucker doesn't own. (there must be one)

The Tiller murder incited by Foxsuckers is it for me. I will go to rabbit ears if need be to not support Rupert and The Brownshirts.

The "Pro-life" murder made me realize that even though I don't watch O'Reilly ) or any of the other Fox Garbage, that my Direct TV payments make me part of the problem.

The solution, block Fox and dump Direct TV.

Then maybe Rupert won't be able to afford a moat for his Chinese Castle.

O'Reilly's act

Bill O'Reilly may decry the murder of Tiller publicly, but behind closed doors he's sharing high-fives and taking compliments for helping bring this about via his invective. He and his staff are now huddling over who should be their next target.

HUH?

A murderer murders a mass murderer, why would anyone be smiling or weeping?

Two Criminals alien to the Culture of Life and embraces the Culture of Death, which includes: Mass murder, Preemptive war, torture, capital punishment, slavery, Rape, Outsourcing of jobs, forced labor, and withholding of Healthcare. How is this different than Adolph Hitler's forced abortions and mass murders?

How did the Progressive Party of FDR ever become so despicable, to sink so low as to support abortion? The concept of Infanticide is revolting to anyone of honor. I remain a Democrat hoping the grip of evil that has infiltrated the party will become extinguished. It is like a group of lowlifes have taken the once party of Justice and made it an eyesore to God. How un-holy. FDR and George Washington are turning in their graves and their souls are crying out to God as are those of the murdered babies.

I never liked O'Reilly or any of the Fox idiots but he is right this time.

Freedom has its costs

I'm willing to pay the price of having jerks like O'Reilly incite morons in order to remain free. Just as I am willing to absorb a terrorist attack rather than torture a detainee and devalue the sacrifice millions of Americans have made to keep us free.

O'Reilly will wake up every morning, look in the mirror and realize that his rhetoric had something to do with this doctor's death. Maybe it won't bother him because he feels he is doing God's will. And, maybe God will forgive him because he is, in his heart of hearts, a good person. Or, maybe, God will judge him to be a money hungry, morally corrupt hypocrite, shove a hot poker up his rectum and roast him over a bed of hot coals for all of eternity.

Either way, I won't muzzle him because I love this country.

O'Reilly is culpable

No one like O'Reily, and especially those in leadership positions at Operation Rescue, is ever at the sharp end of the spear. They just convince idiots that "god" wants the killing and then "deplore" the act later. I doubt Osama bin Laden ever performed a killing himself either.

boycott O'Reilly

I looked around on the web and found a list of companies that supposedly advertise on the O'Reilly Factor. I then looked in my cupboard and found products made by these companies. Next I sent emails to the companies in question telling them what products I actually used and that I could not in good conscience purchase more until I had reassurance that they would not advertise on O'Reilly Factor. I was polite and let them know that I would miss their products but that my dollars can't support hate.

Remember boycotts only work if you let the company know. Also choose the companies whose products you really use. E.g. I'm not likely to buy an Audi so it's stupid of me to say I'm going to boycott Audi.
