O'Reilly's campaign against murdered doctor

The Fox News star had compared Tiller to a Nazi, called him a "baby killer," and warned of "Judgment Day"

The letters thread is now closed.

Stop with the Pro-Life lable already

One more thing I needed to express here.

Is it not about time we stopped referring to this group who has killed again and again as "Pro-life"?

It muddies the water, and confuses the issue. They are not pro-life but anti-abortion, anti-choice and murderers.

So enough already With these fanatics one could say; if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, DUCK!

this one's for Omar, I know he likes rhymes

I wouldn't use Tiller

for my garden filler

Time to stop the hate talk!

I do hope that Dr. Tiller's family will sue this maniac. I am horrified that monsters like O'Reilly are allowed to sling their mud and have no responsibility for it. I have always said it was Rush Limbaugh and his hate talk who was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombings. Now, here some 15 years later this hate-filled O'Reilly is responsible for another murder. I do hope this will help people finally rise up against this kind of so called "free speech". It is not!

tiller...

put himself in the public eye and was attacked more than a decade before O'Reilly rightfully criticized him and his methods.

Line 1, Mr O'Reilly ...

... the Tillers' attorney is on saying something about a civil lawsuit for wrongful death.

True to Anti Abortion Nutcase Form...

The anti abortion trolls arrive, and none that I can see, mention that an abortion is a procedure performed on a pregnant woman's body, by her own choice and most often by a COUPLE'S choice.

Strip the woman from the entire pregnancy and make her a state-controlled incubator. Strip a loving couple away from their own choices and hand them over to some fire-and-brimstone pastor.

Have at it right wingers. You have not seen any actual fight from the vast majority of woman and most men, who don't want anything to do with your notions of who controls what.

By the way, I only know one couple who chose a late term abortion. Ironically, they were Evangelicals, they had their reasons, and no regrets. You have no idea how many in your own midst had abortions. You live in ignorance.

Okay, here's the deal. I'll bet $1000 that that there won't be any civil suit against Fox News, Bill O'Reilly and The O'Reilly Factor, and, if there is one, it will be thrown out on a summary motion.

Remember Jenny Jones? She actually got involved with the parties to a murder, actively deceived one of those parties (the killer, Jonathon Smitz) and that verdict was thrown out on appeal. Scott Amadeure's family got nothing.

So put up or shut up, Salonistas. Put your money where your too-active mouths are.

Campaign by OReilly

Im sorry Dr. Tiller got murdered. Too bad the typical Salon reader/poster doesnt express the same outrage about the termination of a lot of fetuses. Before any comments about my being a right wing religious zealot, Im not a Republican or a Christian (I just have some morals).

@ lexieandazzy

lexieandazzy: I pity people like you who are so brain dead with the half truths and lies of the right wing media that you can no longer think for yourselves. If you cannot see what is wrong with Bill O'Reilly then may God have mercy on your soul. Because people like you are going to have a lot to answer for when you meet your God. The misery and suffering you have heaped on others in the name of religion. Hate is hate and there is no way of making it into something else. Bill O'Reilly has been spreading his message of hate for years. Making millions off of people's ignorance. He has such a venomous attitude it's difficult to even listen to him. Let alone take anything he has to say seriously. When a person is fed a steady diet of hate day after day it changes ones personality for the worse. Do yourself a favor and get help before you are to far gone to become a normal human being again who can see right from wrong. I will be glad when his sort of venom starts going out of style and people grow up enough to want some intelligent conversation again.

Rupert Murderock owns Direct TV

After reading a ton of the letters on this issue, another thought occured to me.

I am going to cancel my Direct TV service, since it is owned by Rupert Murdercocksucker.

Would seem to be one way to get the message to the Mr. Burns of Media Mongrels.

Boycott Direct TV!

How does anyone know what this doctor was doing?

As I understand it, medical records are private, so what I don't get, is how anyone (like Bill O') knows what services (legal or not) this doctor was or was not providing patients. Is there any evidence out there backing Bill's claims about this "murder-mill" being any different from other clinics of this type, or is there just a rumor mill demonizing an easy target?

Media campaigns against campaigners in the media

You ALL do it, for Christ's sake.

So, if O'Reilly was murdered by a wacko who happened to own a Salon subscription should conservatives extrapolate that Salon's campaign against the murdered O'Reilly produced a killer? Salon has certainly made it very clear over the years that O'Reilly is something of a conservative monster.

I'm no lover of O'Reilly in any form of fashion but to suggest his freedom to express critical speech is responsible for someone's death certainly sheds some light on just how censorship and thought-control beautifully fits into Left and Right wing political apparatuses.

The Right seeks power to suppress what they term is immoral expression.

The Left seeks power to suppress what they term is divisive expression.

It all comes to down rooting out something to blame which creates sinister motivations to control human expression.

Blaming O'Reilly for this unfortunate murder is as ridiculous as blaming video games and heavy-metal music for the Columbine tragedy.

The person to blame is the wacko who pulled the trigger.

Christian Fundamentalist Terrorism

That's what it is -- terrorism, pure and simple. What is the qualitative difference between this and the Taliban throwing acid on little girls' faces?

I'm tired of Christians babbling on like they have an exclusive hold on morality when almost NONE of them actually behave in a way that could even remotely be called Christlike. These people -- O'Reilly, the murderer, all of them -- are Christian Terrorists, and should be treated like the terrorists they are. If they promise to send O'Reilly to Gitmo, I might consider supporting waterboarding for terrorists. Or terrorist.
