Stinks

I really don't think you did get it. You seem to have trouble understanding satire. Quite ironic that you call people schizo all the time, as this is a common symptom of the disease.

My dear Renegade Iconoclast,

There is no fine line between satire and propaganda.

Stinky's case is instructive

Folks, if you missed it, I encourage you to read this post from Stinks, which explains a lot:

http://letters.salon.com/news/feature/2009/02/11/bishop/permalink/f3bb1fefb22bd1ed97a6b031af09ffe1.html

The post is a mix of valid comment and utter insanity (with an over reliance on the latter). He crosses this line a few times, and while doing so, displays where he's coming from.

Like many of us, Stinks arrived at the conclusion some time back that he was not being fed the straight story in the official version (be it from history books, the news, etc). That's a fair conclusion.

Stinks' problem was in his reaction to this news. It brought out a very emotional response, amplified by a sort of defensive cynicism, the notion that one can regain one's lost power by "seeing through it all and knowing what's really going on, and concluding that it all stinks." That is, rather than being fooled again, he has instead chosen to see nefarious intentions on everyone's part at all times, and thus will never suffer the surprise at finding this out down the road. I've been down this road myself in the past.

This attitude from Stinks forces him to see everything as the result of conspiracy. To reach such a conclusion, he needs to engage in utterly lazy thinking (modern day Jews = Nazis, drug free zones are the same as Jew-free zones in Nazi Germany, etc). He has also manufactured some delusions that put him in the center of these big conspiracies (see his claims about Gore inviting him to...oh, I didn't follow it all but it's crazy.) However, I really don't believe Stinks is anti-semitic. Jonathan In Tel Aviv's assertion to the contrary is more of that classic "don't criticize Israel or else you're anti-semitic" nonsense. No, Stinks is just cynical and deeply confused, and unfortunately he applies that confusion to the case of Israel and the Palestinians as well as everything else. Don't take it seriously.

Meanwhile, read up about conspiracy theories and the psychology behind them.

This bishop uses the gospel as a blindfold

around his eyes and his heart.

He won't go to a camp because he knows the emotional truth will prevail, his heart will crumble, and his blindfold won't be able to keep out the terrible light.

Response I

JonathanInTelAviv ,

How am I an anti-Semitic bastard, and what do you think would happen if ever Jews happened to be under my mercy?

Something Stinks

"THIS is hate. THIS is religious bigotry. THIS is modern-day Judaism."

No it isn't. That is a national and cultural phenomena it doesn't happen in America or anywhere else yet you attribute it to the entire religion. That is religious bigotry and prejudice.

It doesn’t happen anywhere else because anywhere else it would not be tolerated. Israel is the Jewish Homeland. Israel is a Jewish State. These people are spitting on clerics, for God’s sake. That is sickening. It is pure religious hatred, unadulterated religious hatred. If this happened to Jews by Christians in Italy or the Vatican, it would be front page news on the New York Times and it would be the leading news item in all network and cable news broadcasts. It would be the topic of discussion on the View, on Larry King, on Morning Joe. This has been going on for years, and this is the first time I have heard of it. Why is that?

It is not because of national or cultural identity that Jews are spitting on Christian clerics in Israel. It is because of Judaism. How can you not see that? Why would they choose to spit on clerics, if it were merely a national or cultural phenomenon?

YOU are the one who is programmed to be blind – because you refuse to hold Judaism accountable for it’s bigotry. You refuse to hold the religion of Judaism accountable for it’s own tenets and beliefs. You refuse to hold Judaism accountable for the actions of it’s followers, whose action are based (informed and guided by) in Judaism.

If Catholic school kids spat on Jewish clerics in Kansas, would you say that is because they are Kansans, or Midwesterners? Or would you say it is because they are Catholics?

You are blind because you are so afraid of doing the unthinkable – seeing the inherent racism and bigotry of Judaism as a religion. It is right there in front of everybody’s faces, yet the only people who call attention to it are labeled “Jew haters.” To call attention to the hatred of another is not an act of hate.

This entire media campaign against Bishop Williamson is a distraction from the war crimes of Israel, and the Judaic religion which supports and condones those crimes against humanity.

Something Stinks...thank you.

Thank you for your response to Steele the First. There are legitimate criticisms to be made of Israeli policy and the behavior of some fundamentalist Jews; however, based on Steele's previous letters, it seems he's just a garden-variety Jew hater.

-- DurianJoe

DurinaJoe,

When is the excuse of “some Jews” going to grow old for you? I have posted hateful rhetoric from a Rabbi, and was told he was not representative of most Jews- yet his bio reads he is the leader of the largest and most influential Jewish sect in the world. I have posted stories about the IDF, the citizens of Israel, pro-Israel Jews marching down Times Square, holding hateful banners above their heads, and always the excuse is “they are the minority,” or “they don’t represent Judaism.” Bullshit. They represent Judaism because they are Judaism – Jewish Rabbis, Jewish secular leaders, Jewish citizens of the Jewish Homeland.. How much more Jewish can you get?

Here's the part Steele the first censored from the article

Jerusalem municipal officials said they are aware of the problem but it has to be dealt with by the police. Shmuel Ben-Ruby, the police spokesman, said they had only two complaints from Christians in the past two years. He said that, in both cases, the culprits were caught and punished.

But to Jew hater Steele the First, spitting on Christians is "the modern face of Judaism," and not just a few jerks in Jerusalem.

-- Renegade Iconoclast

I didn’t censor anything. Look up the word “censor” in the dictionary. I even posted a link to the article. Here it is again. I urge you all to read the whole thing, which will pretty much neutralize, if not negate, Renegade’s counter-arguments:
