mos maiorum "customs of the ancestors" -- not quite -- this creepy guy W. & his neocon(men) have (had) frightening similarities to those ignorant arrogate late roman empire emperors that were just titular, inept & full of glorious g(c)reed . . . cohort signa militaria: the semiotic eagle continues without change.
But why on earth are we spending $592 for the U.S. embassy in Baghdad? Who's got the contract? Can we cancel it?
Wow, what a misleading hot and smelly truckload of garbage.
that is what this article does.
GWB was elected a second time. So the blame, if Americans of all kinds really think something is wrong other than a cyclical downfall(economy), rests on all of us.At least those that voted for him the second time.
With the latest example being unequivocal support for Israel's war crimes in Gaza.
W. and the damage done
I tried mainlining a live chimp once whilst listening to Neil Young (don't knock it till you've tried it missus, that Neil Young is rock god, so he is.) Couldn't get the bastard out through the neck of the works and into the vein though. So I gave up and had a nice cup of milky cocoa instead.
Dear Carmina.
Your detailed list of five terrorist attacks during the Clinton administration makes the valid point that Bush didn't inherent a peaceful US. So if Clinton and Bush faced similar terrorist threats isn’t the important question how they responded to them? Clinton was too soft, but Bush's war on Iraq based on falsified intelligence has crippled the US armed forces into a global midget. That's what really scares me.
Bjorn.

(^0^)V VENGEANCE UPON CHIMPya!!!!!
I despite Bush too, but where were your angry letters when the terrorist organization Hamas launched rocket after rocket indiscriminately into southern Israel, killing over 400 men, women, and children?
While I totally denounce Hamas' rockets, you incorrectly say that Hamas launched rockets "killing over 400 men, women, and children". In fact, Hamas' rockets fired since 2000 have killed 22 people (not 400). Not that this is insignificant. Obviously every life is precious. But compare this to Israel's massacre of Gaza's civilians with 800 dead, including 265 children, and more than 3,000 injured over the past few days!
Sadly too many people, like yourself, choose to turn a blind eye to Israel's war crimes. When it comes to murder and terrorism, Israel's army tops them all.
"In an unusually blunt criticism, the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross said it had been seeking access to shell-damaged areas in Zeitoun in the east of Gaza City since Saturday but the Israeli authorities granted permission only on Wednesday — the first day that Israel allowed a three-hour lull in the attacks on Gaza on humanitarian grounds. The statement said a team of four Palestine Red Crescent ambulances accompanied by Red Cross representatives made its way to Zeitoun Wednesday where it “found four small children next to their dead mothers in one of the houses. They were too weak to stand up on their own. One man was also found alive, too weak to stand up. In all, there were at least 12 corpses lying on mattresses.”
In another house, the statement said, the rescue team “found 15 other survivors of this attack including several wounded. In yet another house, they found an additional three corpses. Israeli soldiers posted at a military position some 80 meters away from this house ordered the rescue team to leave the area which they refused to do. There were several other positions of the Israeli Defense Forces nearby as well as two tanks.”
Because of berms built by Israeli forces, the ambulances could not enter the area so “the children and the wounded had to be taken to the ambulances on a donkey cart,” the statement said.
The statement quoted Pierre Wettach, an International Red Cross representative for Israel and the Palestinian areas, as calling the incident “shocking.”
“The Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded. Neither did they make it possible for us or the Palestine Red Crescent to assist the wounded,” he was quoted as saying.
The statement said the international Red Cross “believes that in this instance the Israeli military failed to meet its obligation under international humanitarian law to care for and evacuate the wounded. It considers the delay in allowing rescue services access unacceptable.”

I've got one modest proposal. The Bush Administration was government by the rich, for the rich, and of the rich. The disastrous policies that the Bush administration pursued were at the bidding of the rich. From Hurrican Katrina to the war in Iraq to the billionaire bailout, the rich have robbed this country blind. It's time to get our money back.
We need to abolish all the taxcuts the rich have gotten since the days of Reagan. We have tried laissez-fair free market, trickle down economics. It has failed. We have tried giving all sorts of tax goodies to the rich. The rich in return have tried to turn this country into a massive sweatshop on top of a toxic waste dump.
The rich are NOT our friends.
The rich are not even loyal Americans. They only thing the rich love is our money. Tax the rich. Make them personally responsible for the damage they have done.
One can quibble with the details but the facts are all around us. The Bush presidency has been a disaster.
People say "Give Bush credit. There have been no terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11." I guess 4000+ killed and 30,000 wounded by terrorists in Iraq's unecessary war don't count because they didn't occur here?
Give me a break.
More Americans have died from terrorist attacks during the Bush years than have died before Bush took office.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
