  • Fatuous article. Period.

-If Obama wants to spend $1T to spend our way to prosperity, why do you say it's wrong to spend $100B/year in Iraq on mostly our 'ees and equipment?

-Housing subprime meltdown had its genesis in CRA underCarter and Dems, and got its "rocketboost" in 1995 Treasury Regs by Clinton to force bad loans. Gee, you didn't mention.

-Congress has the power to tax and spend, and Pelosi/Reid have controlled matters, not Bush, since 2006. No mention by you.

-Our various govt entities have swelled in size since the 1930s, to now account for roughly taxes comprising almost 40% of our GDP........choking our economy and growth.......no mention by you as to how this should be fixed. Govt pay cuts are my answer, bigtime, along with tax rate cuts on income and investments around the country and esp for higher-earners who pay way too much to take the risks necessary to create jobs. No mention by you as to whether you agree with what if any type of solution to the mess we're in.

-Your Bush Derangement Syndrome is palpable, and apparently stunts your ability to propose meaningful solutions.

You poor SOB..........good luck with the results of your voting, putting these economic illiterates in total control. Good luck.

  • W. and the Damage Done Comment

My problem is not with this article. Mr. W. Bush's handling of the of the economy was pretty bad we believe. He ws not helped by the horrible relationship he appears to have with the press (media) because he was a Republican and the MEDIA said it would never let up on Mr. Bush; they had a vendetta against him and they have, apparently, destroyed him in the public's eyes. They said they would.

Evidence has it on video tape, if it still exists. Several on the air commentators said he was an illegitimate president; a slogan I've heard many times since then. Gore had filed for the Supreme Court to get him the Presidency. The court fooled him. This embarrassed Gore who has never let up to find something to bankrupt the United States. He found it, but sombody else beat him to it.

My real problem with the economy and this article is with the under and unreported laws made with the approval of President Clinton, during his administration that made it legal to invest money and impliment the financial standards (hot derivitives which I've heard about since 1999) which have led our banking system to this disaster.

I'm sure that I will be castigated or not published because of what I say over this. But, Mr. Clinton is a Democrat and appears to be in full control of the Democrat Party. Anyway, it is his administration that brought this catastrophie upon this nation.

Media has not spoken or is it that media has already said the final word on this? Perhaps we shall be like lambs before the slaughter. Shall we walk happily forward chatting and laugghing to the butcher?

The soon to be MR. President Obama appears to be an agent of real CHANGe. This is the truth and he's most correct about that. No matter what he is saying in his recent speeches and no matter what he promises in them and no matter how many times he says it's gonna be a tough road we have to travel (which is also true). It is becoming more and more clear to me that this is a coordinated swindle being perpetrated on the American people. Somebody or country from outside our borders is calling the shots. Do I know who? No! I can and everybody else can just rock back in those nice Work Camp rockin' chairs. This all looks to be a cheme to suck up what real money there is in the country and among the people by taxing us to death and stripping us of every thing any of us ever worked for. Congress wanted to do this during the Great Depression. No body calls this a depression because it is way beyond that. The media lies to us and is hiding it until MR Obama is fully in control.

Mr. Bush is not wuithout guilt. It appears to be that he lied too. If you put the Democrat PArty along side moderate or liberal side of the Reopublican Party the spit would be a part of th3e same string.

Dmmage to the economy??? No, but destruction to America. Where the Hell have I heard that phrase before? No don't give up on that country, but we'll have to work hard and it cannot be an already bankrupt government that the Democrats KNEW TWO YEARS OUT that it was coming. What did they do? They sat on their hands.

  • Conservatives: You can argue all you want, but the facts betray you.

Our economy totters on the verge of another Depression.

Our international reputation is in tatters.

That's the George W. Bush record, and nothing you say and nothing you do can ever change that fact. Moan, groan, and bang your heads against the wall all you want, but nothing can change the fact that George W. Bush and the GOP have wrecked America.

George W. Bush is the worst President in U.S. history.

  • One year ago in November

I was telling my father to wait one year to buy a house, I have a feeling we're headed for a recession, or even a depression. He's a CPA, financial planner, college planner and what ever else that long list of initials after his name means but he couldn't tell what I knew as a have not: We would not be able to take anymore of Bush's economic policies. If you were like me, a have not, you knew this was coming. Every time this happens it's right after the self indulgent entitlement crowd has been partying it up for too long... just like the DINKs in the '80s. I think it's time to stop asking the wealthy and powerful what to do and start relying on what keeps people like me going... Common Sense.

  • To people like Carmina and those who would absolve Bush because of 911, take note:

PNAC, a think tank with members like Karl Rove, and Donald Rumsfeld, among others who figured prominently in the Bush administration, sent a letter to President Clinton saying that the American people would not agree to act to remove Sadam Hussien from power with out some catalyzing event like a "new Pearl Harbor". I think now we can say "mission accomplished".

Now if people would get over their love affair with George Bush and the republican party, maybe we could have a real investigation into what happened over the last 4 years.
