W. and the damage done

President Bush inherited a peaceful, prosperous America. As he exits, Salon consults experts in seven fields to try to assess the devastation.

Jeb Bush won't run for Senator from Florida

says the time isn't right. He'd lose and he knows it. Be a while before Americans will elect another Bush. Dubya will be hanging around the Republican Partys' neck for a long time to come. Like a dead, stinkin albatross.

Cut the defense budget

Cut part of the Defense budget. Close down unneeded military bases across the globe. Make sure the elite class pays its fair share of taxes. Regulate the banks. Tax the churches. Cut the Pork. Increase the tax cuts to the middle classes. Increase unemployment benefits to the unemployed and extend the benefit period. Force the banks to renegotiate the mortgages given out by perdatory lenders. This will stimulate the economy and slowly put it back on track.

See, what did I tell you...

The paid trolls are out in full force. The best part about articles like this one is I get to skip half the letters! I know it's frusttrating but just remember, conservatives always lie, always.

@ morefunky

Don't worry, Bush voter.

Be happy.

You're going to cuddle with Jesus forever. You're an immortal! A God! Why worry about this whit of a bit that is your years circling the Sun? You will soon be Jesus's Number One Cuddle Buddy!

Just as too few want to talk about how there are too many of us,

too few want to talk about reducing our war department spending. The people who allege that they believe in cuddling with Jesus forever and ever are the same ones who want to build more tanks and drop more bombs...for Jesus, of course. And when they torture, they do it in the name of the tortured Jesus.

100% Children 50% Clap

Money can be printed, jobs formed, roads built--a people can work and buy its way out of these sorts of problems-if it has Spirit. But when a people loses its Spirit, and I mean this with Hegel's meaning, that people can not buy or work its way out of anything. The West is or was a rational construction, therefore, it strives to integrate two moments of the idea or there is no idea--if no idea, we then have common thought, one sided thought or the primitive (like this article I am commenting on or like our friends the terrorists......I mean those valiant freedom fighters, to use current sympathetic terminology). Lets remember that the Clinton's distrusted our intelligence community (derived from that beautiful time of the 1960s of free love and the sharing of mind expanding drugs,ie, taking advantage of each other for the worst of self serving) so they broke this community apart and when the Czechs warned us of 9:11 no one here could communicate the potential trouble. This was passed on to the next political hack. If we have to blame everything on the guy in the current office, lets go back to Clinton's lying, adultery, greed, etc. Although I refuse to blame Clinton completely for our current moral decline and our making fun of it--Clinton has to be the poster boy for our losing of Spirit; after all, the social is primarily an ethical relationship not a material one, and this loss of the ethical, this also was passed on to the next political hack. Clinton contributed to the destruction of Spirit--liberals (and most everyone else nowadays) will only see material things because the rational has been displaced; this is how the article I am commenting on contributes to our mediocrity--only in a very small way, it is not that powerful.

When Bush started chasing the Islamic terrorists--I mean that misunderstood group of (similar to our 1960s radicals)Islamic radicals--around, some Islamic theologians began the process of rationalizing Islam. This must be done to bring it into modernity with its atom bombs and germs, naturally, postmodernists and other gutless wonders that don't believe in the Western narrative any longer want to surrender once again to Ayn Rand's concept of the primitive--or a modern version of it (this would make a great Master's thesis if you could get it by a professor in today's ideological class room!). When 9:11 occurred Laden is said to have said, "the Americans will do nothing." Carter was a puss, Reagan ran from Lebanon, Clinton did nothing but run from Somalia and blow up sand in some crap hole when the twin towers was previously bombed (busy experimenting with cigars--I know, it was not my business or anyone else; the French said so). Now, because of the evil terrorist Bush (not all the credit but we are blaming the guy in office for everything), Islam may be rationalized in the future. When Keillor and his beautiful piss are long forgotten, Bush just may be remembered for at least one good thing.

Go back to the holes you crawled out of. I have a .338 Laupa gift for each of you. Happiness would be a mushroom cloud over Crawford, Texas (just a wet dream). Good riddance to the Bush administration. You really screwed America for a long, long time.

Creative Destruction - World War II

was 'Creative Destruction'? We had to tear the industrialised world down so we could build it up again? We can't fight World War III. Churchill said the next great war would be fought with missiles and the one after with rocks. But you can count on a lot of violence from this depression. Pakistan was already sliding into chaos. Russia is looking unsteady and trigger happy. Which way China? I hope some people are wrong about some things.

@Groenhagen......................@Blase01!

Again, if you did not see it, leather neck, sir, are you familiar with the Coleen Rowley train of events which could have prevented 9/11, but did not, all thanks to our deaf, dumb and blind federal bureaucracies???

@Blase01 - not my old pal "Blaise" from Cheekago, is ya?

Turning up the volume on the Bush Derangement Syndrome seems emotionally immature and physically exhausting. What is it about the left that requires routine tantrums, my frems?

You know the film, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," which asks the question, "what if...?" before the love of his life is so badly injured? A series of consequential events unfolds one from the other, and if we can go back in time (without non cathartic tantrums) and relive some key turning points, it just might be that the real tragedy of 9/11 was that no one of any consequence heard Coleen Rowley.
