Did I just buy an SUV?

I didn't mean to. I am an environmentalist. Really. But before I knew it, there it was, in front of my house.

Like waving a red flag in front of a bull...

A self-proclaimed environmentalist admits that he *gasp* bought a new SUV. Dogpile time!

I'm starting to think Salon deliberately posts stories like this one to generate a bit of outrage and ratchet up the clicks on its pages to justify its advertising rates.

Anyhow, the author's new car/SUV/crossover/whatchamacallit isn't all that horrible in the grand scheme of things. There are plenty of vehicles he could have bought that are worse for the environment.
