None of you "get it." These guys are still fighting the Civil War and doing everything they can to starve the North out. Ask them about Katrina money and the expectation that hurricane money make everyone whole and then some. Nope, sorry, but it's no longer about relieft. It's about revenue.
And ask them about their share of other federal funds to keep their military installations pumping up local tax revenues. And ask them about ship building contracts, even though the ship builders build inferior products.
And aks them about if they took up a collection back in the 80's when good-paying union jobs left the Midwest and moved to North and South Carolina so the corporations could get out from under their labor contracts. Hell no, but today they are crying "foul" as those same mills send their jobs now overseas.
Nope, the South is still a mess. They don't see anyone outside themselves as Americans or deserving anything better. As a matter of fact, they will steal you blind if they get the chance.
