Going back to the Clinton presidency, and bringing on all the econmic warhorses that are responsible for the present deregulatory crisis, and some of the present Wall Street enablers, is not change - it is more of the same - more like Republicanism.
And when the economy goes into a deeper tailspin in a few months, Obama will have spent much of the nation's capital on a failed rescue plan ... and lashed his own boat to those failed strategies. Not so 'smart'. Unless you are also in the pocket of Goldman Sachs and Citibank, etc., in which case you must reward your donors.
Read Spencer's letter (Get Over It) for a shocking perspective on how much a bunch of wingnuts the editors of Salon really are. The guy actually accuses Republicans of murdering people and earns a Star!
The only thing being murdered is the truth!
The person who pointed out the Reich Rubin bait and switch was priceless too. He did deserve a star for daring to point out how the Emperor, um, I mean, the President-Elect has no clothes.
I am conservative Republican, a person at risk for higher taxes and a Palin supporter and I must say Obama's choices seem to be growing on me. I think I am beginning to like him more than y'all do!
speak for yourself, Mike.
Wow!! You relly think so! (How desparate you are for column inches. Better you than me.)
Then they'd know that "the change we've been looking for" referred to the Clintonistas returning to power, not some Shangri-La of liberal-left possibility.
It's hard to not agree with the smart money, but what we all need to do right now is to stop criticizing Obama and the choices that he's making. It could be wildly possible that the man has a plan, one that he can act on quickly. He can't make change unless he embraces some of the players that are already in the game. We all need someone with a giant shovel to dig us all out of the gigantic hole that Bush and Co. has left behind for the rest of us to deal with.
Questions and maybe a bit of speculation are fine, but at least give the man a chance to try to fulfill his campaign promises. He's got to play the game the way its always been played.
Do you really think Obama is that stupid? He wouldn't dare do anything as dumb as act like the socialist that he is "right now". I mean that would be political suicide and he wants to be re-elected in 2012. The guy ain't stupid... he knows how to sleep with the enemy- I mean look at his friends :)
