    Oh gawd, don't start!

Can't we please call a moratorium on this kind of nit-picking? I'd swear we were back in the primaries again, in the thick of what Elizabeth Drew, writing in the New York Review of Books, so aptly termed "molehill politics." Obama's political instincts have always been centrist--a very admirable posture for one preparing to lead the country at a time when national unity will be essential. The American left, such as it is, has no more of a coherent ideology than the right, still less a program to go with it. Besides, haven't we just seen what harm results from eight years of putting ideology before ability? Let Obama choose his team and let's see what that team can do!
