I thought you would be interested in what other people might think. But you are not.
As Ms. Paglia said in her article, some of you are so engaged in navel gazing that you do not want to be disturbed in your meditations about the grandiosity of your own navels.
..do NOT have a sense of humor.
But, since you are all so right in your leftist disgust with the outgoing administration, perhaps you could pull up your socks and let us unwashed, non-librals know a thing or two:
1. In a post 9/11 world, how could we possibly tolerate the Taliban-Al Queda redoubt in Afghanistan? Isn't it better now? Isn't it better especially for girls and women there?
2. In a post 9/11 world, how could we possibly tolerate Saddam Hussein's continuing non compliance with UN resolutions? Isn't it better now? Remember the gassed Kurdish villages? The mass graves for Shias? The rape rooms for the female relatives of his enemies? The lopped off hands? Isn't it a good thing that thousands of AQ recruits have swarmed into Iraq, only to die there?
I'm very interested in what thinking people have to say, hence my boredom with you.
Like a typical conservative, you dodged my question: Can you prove that you are not or will never become a terrorist?
These people clearly think they are your betters.
After all, they've gone to the finest schools, and some of them grew up in the lap of luxury with au pairs, just like Billy Ayres.
You're supposed to be raking their leaves, don't you see?
In a post 9/11 world, how could we possibly tolerate the Taliban-Al Queda redoubt in Afghanistan?
Bush tolerates it just fine. He promised years ago to get OBL and then strangely changed his little mind. Ask him about that.
Isn't it better now? Isn't it better especially for girls and women there?
No. Bush let the Taliban back in. Then he pretended that Iraq was the enemy so he could play warlord and conquer the country with the second-biggest oil reserves. Even Greenspan has admitted to the ruse.
In a post 9/11 world, how could we possibly tolerate Saddam Hussein's continuing non compliance with UN resolutions?
Saddam was only in violation of UN resolutions. Bush is in violation of the UN charter itself and in violation of international laws for the biggest crimes on the books.
But Saddam did comply. Bush kicked out the UN weapons inspectors, not Saddam.
Isn't it better now?
You really enjoyed your work at Abu Ghraib, didn't you wingnut?
Polls in Iraq say Iraqis prefer Saddam over Bush. Bush is responsible for over a million deaths, for over a million refugees, and for systematically trashing all the infrastructure besides. Since Saddam is responsible for his atrocities, Bush should also be responsible for his own atrocities, particularly since they're far more grave than Saddam's.
No, it's not better.

I do. They are a lost cause. They are unable to look beyond their navels.
In this magazine they also have an article that is all about Michelle Obama’s ass.
Incredible!
I do not think I will be wasting my energies with this people. It was encouraging to meet electronically people like you.
The election is over and we still get the Obama talking points on Ayers. Now from Ayers himself who in an effort to curry favor with the President-Elect is willing to paint his relationship with Obama as something insignificant and far from sinister.
Other than the National Review’s Stanley Kurtz no one wants to take a hard look at the depth of the relationship between Obama and Ayers.
Instead we are fed the same line of pabulum about charitable boards and a benign coffee.
In fact, that so-called "charitable board" was a hundred million dollar apparatus that Ayers ran and for which he picked Obama as Chair in order to dispense millions in aid to radical education projects. This was not a couple of swells meeting every other month at the country club to further the cause of animal rights or help the local hospital with it fundraising. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was big business that dispensed huge sums in furtherance of a radical agenda that Ayers still espouses and Obama chose to run away from.
Perhaps in minimizing his relationship with Obama Ayers thinks he will be thrown some kind of perk. Or at the very least receive the gratitude of Obama’s many minions who will be pleased to hear his revisionist history.
Despite the despicable whitewash Obama is too clever by half to repay him in any such way and Ayers will have to be contented with being fawned over by Salon and its readers and similar recompense for his self-diminution.
Good heavens, is this here saloon full of shallow nitwits, or what?
I wish I remembered more of my college Spanish, Juan Enrique, but you are a fine gentleman. Please keep the faith and persevere. We shall overcome.
Muchas Gracias, amigo!
Ayers is being rewarded by a big bounce in his book sales. Salon will make him rich. He can move to Venezuela with his lovely, virginal Bernadine, and expropriate a big hacienda there, and be granted the Coca Cola bottling franchise. Maybe Raul Castro will grant him The Isle of Pines. A little face lift might help too. He's getting pretty wrinkeley, don't you think? Maybe Nancy Pelosi's plastic surgeon could give him a discount face lift.
"Pal around" with them.
You just might learn something.
Great interview, Walter. Thanks for this...
There are some odd associations going on here with the radconista posters. They must have seen some propaganda on the CIA and Sirhan-Sirhan on the History Channel. It revealed that Sirhan-Sirhan was practicing Rosicrucian style meditation. Hence, their references to liberal naval gazing, Sirhan-Sirhan, and terrorist-loving liberals. The official publication on terrorists published by the FBI states that liberals encourage terrorists. So, featuring Bill Ayers in a liberal e-zine invited some real honest to goodness fear mongering replete with anti-meditation monikers like Lotus Feet.
What amazes me is that with the drastic measures taken against anti-war protesters and dissenters by intelligence agents that the radcon populace still finds something to complain about. But it's not actually complaining--it's more like an attempt to intimidate wrapped up in hysteria. And let's not forget the entertainment value. Those radcon posters and friends were getting a heck of a head rush out of those irrational arguments.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
