I was an Indonesian high school student during the Vietnam war. Although far away, I did remember seeing photo's in the newspapers or maybe in the black-and-white TV then, about the massive demonstrations in the whole USA opposing the Vietnam war with its 1500 soldiers dead every month.

I never heard or see any photo or news about the bombings of Pentagon,until yesterday in the TV I see a clip of a long haired young Ayers,(I think, he DID look like a Che Guevara terrorist, or a drug addict hippie), and clips of burning buildings (not clear whether it was Pentagon, or Vietnam?).

well, he was a good-motivated (anti-war) activist with a wrong tactic, labelled terrorist.

But it was 40 years ago,he was old and changed now,becoming sane now from his insane years,(all his bombings futile, as it seems the demo's which end the war), short minded person, and have NO connection to today's politics or political leaders.

It is Palin now with her agitations pushing her fans to "Kill Obama!" which seems like an Extremist agitator (ending with terrorism, eg shooting Obama)

I appreciated this article and hearing from Bill Ayers after his name was dropped as a terrorist time and again by Palin. I saw the GMA "interview" but I couldn't help understand why everyone is not interviewed as Bill Ayers was. Palin for example, could have been interviewed about her assertions, what she knew, how she knew it and what evidence she had. But Palin had no clue-she just needed to incite fear in an already fearful base.Her lack of good judgement and qualifications were glaringly apparent.

On the "terrorist" note, Letterman did ask McCain about G. Gordon Liddy. In a dimissive lower voice, McCain said, "Oh,now, he did his time."

This blog is a review of our history, Mr. Ayers's history, a revisiting of the Vietnam war, meshed with facts and fallacies. Painful as it may be, we remember, so we don't continue the mistakes of the past. Mr. Ayers is correct, our focus has got to be the future-we can't ever stay silent again. The secrete Service investigated the incident, in spite that they were present, and it did not happen. Nobody said “Kill Obama”. He would have been arrested.

This is another example of ‘media created stories’. Of course the media that reported the alleged ‘incident’ never reported the findings of the Secret Service.
