Bill Ayers talks back

Sarah Palin called him a terrorist, Barack Obama called him an acquaintance. A Salon editor who knew Ayers back when talks to the ex-Weather Underground member turned Republican talking point.

Adopt a Guantanimo "Insurgent"

I think Stalin.com could have several pages devoted to this: include a photo and little bio of each of these sweet and friendly guys.

Seriously, they might make wonderful chefs, chauffeurs and gardeners for alla you rich hip radical chic librals.

Butchers! I bet they'd make fine butchers for you too, my frems.

Beverly Hills, Park Avenue, West Riverside Drive - that's where all of these jolly fellows should go. Just think how nice it would be to have one of these fellows for your doorman.

Monday, November 17, 2008 01:43 PM

Then what would you have done?

Not put out a bounty in the first place and accepted the word of whomever dragged someone in that the someone was a terrorist?

@ Lotus Feet

re: Beverly Hills, Park Avenue, West Riverside Drive - that's where all of these jolly fellows should go.

How about Crawford, TX?

After all, it was Bush who brought them over and was unable to prosecute them for anything.

Good reporting

Excellent interview, Walter. I think you successfully took the temperature of the man. While some believe he burns hot and others say he's stone cold, I think you showed us that he's somewhere in the middle.

If you're a Christian, you should no fear of their release.

So what if they kill you?

You just get to cuddle with Jesus that much sooner.

Now, would you be so friendly to the Supreme Court if it tells Obama that he has to submit his birth certificate?

Scorpio69er said:

“Supreme Court backs Guantanamo detainees In rebuke to administration, suspects may appeal in U.S. civilian courts”

That is why it is so difficult to deal with terrorists. We grant them the rights they would not give us.

Now, would you be so friendly to the Supreme Court if it tells Obama that he has to submit his birth certificate? Beware that 2 separate actions are pending before the Court.

I don't think they'd like Texas

Too many of us cowpokes riding around in our pick up trucks with loaded 30-30's in our gunracks.

Might make them a little nervous.

They'd prefer some 69 lessons from big tough scorpio mens at the baths, my frem.

Excellent interview? You must be kidding!

Excellent interview?

Shapiro manages to present a wannabe murderer, unrepentant terrorist, as a mellow and nostalgic prestigious professor.

Is that good reporting?

Sure. In the land of the naïve and in the Age of Obama.

Juan Enrique

re: That is why it is so difficult to deal with terrorists. We grant them the rights they would not give us.

What EVIDENCE do you have that the Gitmo detainees are guilty of terrorism?

Oh, that's right -- NONE.

Why do you hate America so much?

re: Supreme Court if it tells Obama that he has to submit his birth certificate

BWAHAHAHA!

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthcertificate.asp

P.S. You've now become terminally boring. Buh bye!

Edited for length??? Are you fucking kidding me???

This is the internet you fucking jackass. Each embedded image on your page takes up more bandwidth then the entire text from an interview.

Also, do you not realize the right will imply you have something to hide? That you removed parts of the interview that would be damaging to Obama.

It's one thing to edit content for length on T.V. There is no rational argument for editing it for the web.

Do you not realize how fucking retarded you are to do something like that.

You wouldn't know journalism if it bit you in the ass.

Salon is becoming a real joke if that is the new norm.

This is what has become of the Republican Party.

Read the comments of Lotus Feet and Juan Enrique. You only need to read a few, because they're all pretty much the same. All they can come up with are some juvenile names to call people, some talking points that they don't fully understand, and a very loose (if any) grip on the facts. (But, facts are liberal, so who needs them anyway when you all you really need is a good dose of self-righteousness?)

These are the voices of today's Republican Party. Keep on keepin' on, guys.

I was not there

I think some are missing the point of this interview.

The focus should be on the question of the day, Obama's relationship with Ayers. Both men basically said the same thing

regarding their association. We can judge Ayer's actions all we want, but that should not be any reflection on our President elect OBAMA's views one way or another. As Ayer said something to the fact that 2008 election will be probably the last election concerned about heroes or velins of the 1960's war.

Let leave the past to historians and focus on the future.

Adoption sounds nice but Oybek Jamoldinivich Jabbarov, who was living it up in Afghanistan until he was whisked away,

is 30 years old so he might be intractable at that age. Nevertheless, there's always Oprah, word of whose fame and fortune has reached even distant shores. She's such an influential figure in America that she could get in on the act and make it perfectly feasible for men in their thirties to become adoptees. They're all men, I gather. Women don't travel around quite so freely in Central Asia and going to Afghanistan would be like going from the frying-pan into the fire. The Lebanese man who liked the idea of Switzerland is probably fond of cuckoo-clocks and cow-bells. There are some quiddities in that too as the Swiss cantons use three different languages so I suppose he opted for the French-speaking region, as Beirut was once called "the Paris of the East".

That is why it is so difficult to deal with terrorists. We grant them the rights they would not give us.

BECAUSE WE ARE BETTER THAN THEY ARE.

Unless we sink to their level. And then we are worse.

We are heading into an idyllic America under the rule of Obama, The Messiah, where unrepentant terrorists become “distinguished” professors.

bungo pony and others,

Let us limit the conversation about this article because otherwise it will become impossible to manage all the possible subjects.

I say that Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist and Shapiro in this article presents Ayers in the best possible light and did not ask him about their plans for killing soldiers and their dates at a dance with a nail bomb that exploded and killed some of the Ayers’ accomplices.

I further say that this interview is an attempt to whitewash both Ayers and Obama.

We are heading into an idyllic America under the rule of Obama, The Messiah, where unrepentant terrorists become “distinguished” professors.

Juan Enrique is a real gentleman

You don't see him using the f word. Anyone who has a special friend or special relative knows that the word "retard" is a horrible way to describe many among us who have the love and care of their friends and families to depend on.

You can try to pidgeon hole us, but most of you are knee jerks, who have swallowed left wing nonsense lock stock and barrel. Most of you are self described progressives, (votebber dot means), most of you all think the same and you are all jerking your knees in clueless unison while pretending to be open minded intellectuals who value diversity, and free and open inquiry and critical thought.

And, don't talk to me about hatred and rage. Yours is telling, and should be a warning to the truly liberal and open minded here, that you are the guys who, like your heros, Ayers and Dhorn, find it so easy to justify all kinds of violence including murder. Just listen to you rant about Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld like you want blood. In your minds, the people who disagree with your rubbish are so despicable they deserve to be eliminated.
