In 1969, Ayers and his wife convened a "War Council" in Flint Michigan, whose purpose was to launch a military front inside the United States with the purpose of helping Third World revolutionaries conquer and destroy it. Taking charge of the podium, dressed in a high-heeled boots and a leather mini-skirt – her signature uniform – Dorhn incited the assembled radicals to join the war against "Amerikkka" and create chaos and destruction in the "belly of the beast." Her voice rising to a fevered pitch, Dohrn raised three fingers in a "fork salute" to mass murderer Charles Manson whom she proposed as a symbol to her troops. Referring to the helpless victims of the Manson Family as the "Tate Eight" (the most famous was actress Sharon Tate) Dohrn shouted:
"Dig It. First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!"

"They made a point of targeting property and carefully warning people away from their targets."
This is idiocy. Spend 5 minutes on google and find just how often the morons in the IRA justified their many, many mistargets with this reasoning. There are people in buildings. There are people inhabiting and working in property. The careful warnings are bullshit. They go awry. They come too late. Bombs blow things up and those things disperse as shrapnel. The statue they blew up created a force that blew out nearby windows and threw parts of the statue off onto a nearby road. How is that "targeting property" and not putting people at risk? What kind of nitwit can't understand that an explosion creates force beyond the site of the blast? You seem to be confusing actual explosions with the movie explosions, where the heroes outrun the blast and emerge with a little black smoke on their faces.
Your defense is crap because it's simply not true. The bomb that exploded and killed his comrade was a nail bomb. What's the purpose of a nail bomb? To blow nails all over, and harm anyone in the range of the blast. If no one else was killed or hurt, it's by luck, not design.
Of course, we can excuse Ayers and Dohrn because they were acting on higher principles and doing what was right.
Osama bin Laden: "Allah ordered us … to purify Muslim land of all non-believers,… We are surprised this question is coming from Americans…. American history does not distinguish between civilians and military, and not even women and children. They are the ones who used the bombs against Nagasaki…. America does not have a religion that will prevent it from destroying all people…. We believe that the biggest thieves in the world and the terrorists are the Americans… We are sure of Allah’s victory and our victory against the Americans and the Jews as promised by the prophet peace be upon him….We predict a black day for America and the end of the United States as United States…"

Now, would someone please forward this to Camille Paglia?
Other than the Haymarket bombing, did Ayers actually do any of that? Including the quote in the New York Times?
Did he really?
When you have to lie about what somebody did, even somebody you hate - especially somebody you hate - it's got to feel pretty nasty. What's that like for you?

“Who's the terrorist again?????”
It all depends on whether hate blinds you!
As for Ayers, the bomb that killed his comrades was full with antipersonnel artifacts like nails and it was destined to be exploded in a dance for soldiers and their dates. That it did not kill hundreds of them was purely providential, that day God had mercy on the innocent.
Now the media, including the interviewer from Salon, is silent about that. They do not ask those inconvenient questions from a friend of Obama’s. If it had been a friend of McCain’s then the coverage would have been totally different.
As for Bush, he has not killed millions, Hussein did kill millions and for the relatives of those killed by Hussein most likely Bush would be a hero.
Thousands in Iraq have killed themselves in religious warfare among themselves, precisely the warfare that our troops have sought to stop. Before we got there it was Hussein the one that killed hundred of thousands. But then, again, the media makes it look like it is Bush’s fault.
You, and the media, are blind with hate and that makes you miss the facts.
You said Ayers did not kill anyone but surely he tried.
You're devoting a lot of time to Mr. Ayers here.
1) The election is over and your guy lost.
2) Apparently, #1 bears repeating: The election is over and your guy lost.
3) Ayers wasn't/isn't running for office. I'm not here to defend Ayers, but what do you hope to achieve by attacking him? Nobody is denying his past misdeeds. He did some really bad stuff. A long time ago. It's over. Done.
4) If it wasn't for the Right's frothing at the mouth over this washed-up terrorist, he'd just fade into the past. Why do you insist on keeping his legacy alive? - Ayers is more popular now than he's been in 30 years, thanks to the Right.
5) Do you honestly believe that Obama is guilty of every single thing that Ayers has done? Bear in mind that those are two (2) different people.
6) Also bear in mind that guilt-by-association is a game anyone can play. Here's an example - Why did John McCain give money to the Contras (a.k.a. terrorists) in Central America in the 1980's? John McCain must be a terrorist-lover!
Cheers.
"Ayers and his ilk continue to undermine this great country with their big egos and their petty, made up grievances. We are the greatest nation the world has ever known."
Talk about big ego...It's this kind of arrogance that has gotten into so much trouble in the first place.
