Ayers always says that nobody was ever intentionally hurt by a Weather Underground bomb, that the bombs set off were only symbolic acts of vandalism, not terrorism. But clearly, these people were saved from being Timothy McVeigh-type terrorists only by their incompetence. Because the bomb in the NY townhouse that killed three Weather people was not meant as property vandalism - it was meant to be exploded at a soldier's dance in New Jersey - the object being to kill as many soldiers (and their dates!) as possible. After they killed themselves with this bomb, the remaining Weather Underground, to their credit I suppose, re-evaluated their approach, and at THAT point decided to only bomb buildings. But to say their intention was never to kill people is just not true. Why doesn't anybody ask Ayers directly about this?
The mere fact that Ayers did not speak with the media before the election although many outlets tried to interview him shows his hypocrisy.
When there is a ‘convenient’ moment to say an alleged ‘truth’ then the alleged truth is just a lie.
All of them al liars: Ayers, Wright, Michelle and of course, Obama.
A single coffee? Too bad Shapiro didn't ask Ayers about their work together on the Woods Foundation and Annenberg Challenge, where Ayers wrote the radical educational agenda, and brought in Obama as chairman of the board to approve the funding.
Also the simple, direct question that cries to be answered: "What were you teaching American children while working with Obamna, and what are you teaching them now?" Nobody has the integrity to ask that. Equally fascinating would be how a past and current Marxist terrorist got to be a "Distinguished Professor of Education" at the University of Illinois?
Finally, in terms of "current," why is Ayers a prominent
on-site protagonist in Venezuela of the "anti-American
revolution" directd by Dictator Hugo Chavez?
LLdoug - Why didn't the MSM ask McCain about his relationship with domestic terrorist G. Gordon Liddy?
Juan Enrique - "The mere fact that Ayers did not speak with the media before the election although many outlets tried to interview him shows his hypocrisy." - Umm, Ayers wasn't running for office. By contrast, the Republicans felt the need to sequester an actual candidate (Caribou Barbie) from the media. What proof do you have that anybody is a liar? (Oh, that's right, you're a Republican and you don't need proof because proof is liberal...)
terkoy - You never fail to remind us of the Right's truly racist attitudes, do you? Well done! Oh, and please, please, PLEASE run Caribou Barbie in 2012!
Ayers, you son of a bitch, I will never forgive you because you weren't that significant in ending the war; indeed, I'm convinced that the Weathermen, above all, extended it by angering and blinding Americans from understanding the evil ramifications of that war. Your bright idea of the Weathermen with it's convoluted mission virtually mandated that it would take much longer for the American public to come to its senses and object to the Vietnam war. And with that, you virtually polarized every single American who works with their bodies into the arms of right-wing conservatism and into the politics of fear and injustice. You really do have to be out here among the populace to even slightly comprehend what I mean. You really do. Otherwise, you operate in a naive Ivory Tower which you don't in any way deserve to enjoy.
In the interest of being brief here, I won't belabor describing the many Americans who a liberal intellectual must, and still does, fear, nor the enormous chasm you created between those who operate on rationalness and those who let the forces of greed, bad government, and self interest rule not just Americans, but the world. This last sentence is extremely loaded because you essentially gelded American ideals and made true Democracy, as well as an honest republic, impossible. Think about it, you've hurt the world and the very people you cared about magnaminously and thus became a significant heavy in the problems our nation faces today.
I know this, because for forty years I've lived among the avrage American, mostly alone intellectually. I must verifibly try to avoid tripping on this chasm everyday of my life as I try to live a liberal life and have opinions, make decisions, and be the kind of American I thought I could be, the kind of American all other Americans can be proud of.
You have no idea how much this chasm has brought this country to its knees intellectually. You played a huge role, not in ending the war, but in feeding the trough of ignorance and intellecutal reticense. You've made my life and my ideals for a just and peaceful world, shit.
What percent of the stalin.com regulars ever served in the military? Most of you don't know squat about the realities of military life and war. You like the ugly rhetoric of Ayres-Dhorn. You think they are the heros. You view vets as some kind of criminals.
My best memory of Fort. Dix was meeting one of my few lifelong friends there. He insisted he was not going to fight and ended up being sent to medic school in Texas. I was coming back from visiting him at that airport last Christmas, when, for the first time in my life, I saw our troops spontaneously cheered by busy travelers.
I lost touch with my other good Fort Dix friend, a Greek American guy, who was sent to a different advanced training camp from my new post in the Deep South. His family brought us a big Greek feast one weekend, and, just because I was his best buddy, they lavished lots of this wonderful food on me.
I am reliving this for you to let most of you know something you almost certainly fail to recognize in your shallow, little, propaganda filled progressive minds. You can never understand the deep friendships which are formed during the rigors of training and serving together in the military. You pass over the fact that these dirt bags were planning to blow up troops at Ft. Dix, and most of you still fawn all over them. Now these turds are "educators." How wunnerful, as Li'l Abner would say.
We are fortunate that it is the nature of youth to rebel and question their elders' wisdom. It's difficult to brainwash American boys and girls, because they are exposed to so many different sources of information. I am fortunate to know lots of teens, and they see right through their dullard pee cee social studies teachers in high school and college. Their best teachers help them learn to think for themselves and they know this.
There are many "bands of brothers" who have fought for freedoms many of you take for granted. We are not going to go away.
