Bill Ayers talks back

Sarah Palin called him a terrorist, Barack Obama called him an acquaintance. A Salon editor who knew Ayers back when talks to the ex-Weather Underground member turned Republican talking point.

The letters thread is now closed.

Bill Ayers TERRORIST

Bill Ayers claim of not being a TERRORIST is FALSE.He knew that people could have been in those buildings that he and his fellow TERRORISTS bombed.Since he LIED about being a TERRORIST how can we believe anything else he said.He is only making these claims to protect Obama.Obama sought out the most RADICAL people to use when he started his political climb. Now he is trying to run from those who helped him get started in an attempt to hide his ULTRA-LIBERAL LEFTIST Agenda.Obama will not cut taxes instead he will do as Bill Clinton did and RAISE TAXES on ALL.Obama cannot cut taxes on anyone if he wants to pay for all the SPENDING he wants to do.That WASTEFUL SPENDING will drive prices and Unemployment through the roof and that will effectively wipeout the poor and middle class.Obama wants that so his GIGANTIC Government can step in and pretend to help.Johnson proved that Government cannot and never will be able to wipeout Poverty.LBJ's welfare wasted Trillions of tax dollars and we have more poverty now than then.GOD is the only one who can and will wipeout poverty.Obama and his LIBERAL Minions can only create more poverty and that is FACT.

principled

Whatever you say about Ayers, at least he stood up for something he believed in. In the end, he was proved right in opposing a senseless war that even McNamara and Johnson realized early on could not be won. So after 55,000 dead Americans and over a million dead Vietnamese we are still arguing about who are real Americans. Look at who the right has vilified, Kerry who volunteered was decorated then returned to speak against the war, Clinton who avoided the draft and marched against the war, Ayers who literally took the fight to the streets against the war. Meanwhile, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, etc. all the usual suspects managed to avoid the draft. The had there chance to go to war for America and they did everything in their power to stay home. That is the most sickening aspect to the whole debate, whether Vietnam or Iraq. The right is pro-war as long as other peoples children do the dying!

Thanks Walter Shapiro. The Bill Ayers talks back deserves a second slow read for digestion. METANOIA is a beautiful biological word I love... It's worth a read @ Wikipedia. Metanoia, will not hurt. It will sure help humanity.

The last two sentences: "Let's not lose hope in ourselves.

But let's wish them [the new transition] all the best." Yes!

The Bill Ayers photo: He needs to shave? He kiss, scratch.

I don't know, but Bill Ayers seems:`NO shoots hate glare.

The old GOP made fox, chickens, mules, and possum cry.

Maybe if Bill Ayers saw a skinny dachshund puppy he'd feed?

If ever at a sports event, and a hungry dog barks, or annoys,

you know, keeps-up a erie howl sound, share a frankfurters.

Guilt-by-Association?

Agreed.

I think Obama is actually a closet, Right-Wing Republican. It has been confirmed that Obama has met many times with several powerful Republicans players. There are even rumors that he plans to include them in his inner circle of advisors.

Its Guilt by Association, and Mr. Obama, I find you guilty of being a secret supply-side rightwinger.

re: Hi Bill

I think I was sitting next to you at that party where you sat next to those SDS "terrorists."

Do you remember that Black Panther, the one who came in late with his buddy and asked for a beer and then passed the hat? He needed money to get back home to the south side.

You gave him a dollar, I was short of cash and just smiled.

It was quite a party.

I'm sorry to hear about the bad press you're getting. You always seemed like a nice guy, maybe too passionate. But a lot of us were.

WELL

"What we thought we were doing was to raise a screaming alarm -- to try to wake up anybody who was still sleepwalking to the reality of what was going on in our name..."

Oh yeah, narcisism was alive and well back in 1968, wasn't it?

I mean, just because everyone wasn't jumping up and down plotting which hometown buildings to bomb doesn't mean they were not acutely aware of the situation. And THAT was the mistake the drug freaks made in their own self-induced comas.

THEY couldn't accept the fact that everyone else in America wouldn't follow them off the cliff like lemmings. These special elites were too smug and arrogant, thinking that the rest of America was just a bunch of hillbillies in small towns, clinging to guns and religion and being bitter.

Hey, bucko, got news for you. And you missed the Memo back in the days: We all despised the war. We were just not going to let anarchy run the streets with more violence.

What you did not, and could not, know at that time was how Nixon cut a deal with South Vietnam's U.S.-installed President to stay way from the Peace talks arranged by LBJ, and hold off on "peace" until after Nixon was elected. Nixon was the pathological Republican who never met a boogie man he didn't want to use to gain and keep power. It would be the way Republicans would do politics in America for the next 30-some years. He had no problem with thousands of additional U.S. troops dying for nothing - just like W. Bush.

And you're a Republican these days, eh? lol I'll bet cha' that if Sarah knew that, she wouldn't have taken those cheap shots at ya.

Who in their right mind would bomb the Pentagon? And who in their right mind would be a Republican? Case closed.

The second glance at the Bill Ayers photo....

It appears a hateful fisher guy who was 99?

Tripped Bill and Ayers fell into a tackle box?

A rusty fish hook in the ear is still dangling.

Ayers was a college 'bean' ball pitchpitcher?

My great Uncle Tom was sad ref: FBI snoop.

Uncle Thomas James had a sad job. He fed.

Uncle Thomas would get misty eyed. dead.

Uncle Thomas mentions the incite "words"

I wish he'd take me fishing for whiskey cats.

Cats and dogs love to go trout trolling? huh.

No. The damn critters drank root beer. burp.
