The election is over and we still get the Obama talking points on Ayers. Now from Ayers himself who in an effort to curry favor with the President-Elect is willing to paint his relationship with Obama as something insignificant and far from sinister.
Other than the National Review’s Stanley Kurtz no one wants to take a hard look at the depth of the relationship between Obama and Ayers.
Instead we are fed the same line of pabulum about charitable boards and a benign coffee.
In fact, that so-called "charitable board" was a hundred million dollar apparatus that Ayers ran and for which he picked Obama as Chair in order to dispense millions in aid to radical education projects. This was not a couple of swells meeting every other month at the country club to further the cause of animal rights or help the local hospital with it fundraising. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was big business that dispensed huge sums in furtherance of a radical agenda that Ayers still espouses and Obama chose to run away from.
Perhaps in minimizing his relationship with Obama Ayers thinks he will be thrown some kind of perk. Or at the very least receive the gratitude of Obama’s many minions who will be pleased to hear his revisionist history.
Despite the despicable whitewash Obama is too clever by half to repay him in any such way and Ayers will have to be contented with being fawned over by Salon and its readers and similar recompense for his self-diminution.
