Bill Ayers talks back

Sarah Palin called him a terrorist, Barack Obama called him an acquaintance. A Salon editor who knew Ayers back when talks to the ex-Weather Underground member turned Republican talking point.

No, Juan E., this is about blaming the media for what we choose to believe

By the way, I'm gratified to know you wish the President-elect well. It's a favor to all of us, since it's in the best interest of us all. However, when one attempts to discredit a person one is wishing well, it somehow rings a terribly hollow and discordant note.

Obama has not been discussed by the media? How'd he get all the undeserved media attention without being discussed? Enlighten me.

"Farrakhan is he not a friend of Wright?" No, actually he is not. This is something about which I know a little. Your chain of evidence is broken right there. Wright chose to honor Farrakhan for the (precious little) good he has done. They aren't "buds." They don't hang out together. But even if they did, what, in the name of all that's good and holy, does that have to do with anything? Well, other than drawing one of those screwy connect-the-dots pictures of evil, which is never sufficiently covered in the media no matter who's involved. Which is why we need to learn to become informed on our own, do our own research, and not depend so much on what Will Rogers warned us about, that business about "All I know is what I read in the papers." I never did like Will Rogers much, and that's the main reason.

    Your turn.
