    principled

Whatever you say about Ayers, at least he stood up for something he believed in. In the end, he was proved right in opposing a senseless war that even McNamara and Johnson realized early on could not be won. So after 55,000 dead Americans and over a million dead Vietnamese we are still arguing about who are real Americans. Look at who the right has vilified, Kerry who volunteered was decorated then returned to speak against the war, Clinton who avoided the draft and marched against the war, Ayers who literally took the fight to the streets against the war. Meanwhile, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, etc. all the usual suspects managed to avoid the draft. The had there chance to go to war for America and they did everything in their power to stay home. That is the most sickening aspect to the whole debate, whether Vietnam or Iraq. The right is pro-war as long as other peoples children do the dying!
