Why not pattern this commission after the post-apartheid truth Commissions is South Africa? If anyone came forward, testified truthfully, they were pardoned, no matter how heinous their actions. This is the type of commission we need to address this most serious problem.

Justice needs to be served. No one is above the law. Many of the people who involved in corporate scams are leaving the United States and working overseas to avoid the law. The Department of Justice needs to be doubled in size and in resources. We need to go after those who tortured or authorized torture. They should be prosecuted under the laws that are constitutional and not the creation of the Department of Defense or Department of Homeland Security. If there is another terrorist act in the United States it should not deter us from cleaning up our own house. Acts required to protect "national security" need to be revised and locked in a place where it cannot be tampered with. Bring in the bull dogs that can do it.

He WOULD be admitting to the whole world that he is guilty along with his thugs. Does her really want to do that? Either way, I hope they do investigate and show the world whatever they find.

What we really need is a Truth & Reconcilation Commission like South Africa had. If they can do it, why can't we? The parallels are there.
Bush forced the USA PATRIOT Act, authored by Joe Biden (or so he boasts), down our throats and thus Americans are spying on Americans--all our phone calls, emails and financial transactions are sieved for the convenience of law enforcement, it's all blatantly unconstitutional. Yet people are clamoring for Bush to be investigated because his thugs were supposedly mean to bloodthirsty terrorists?
Critics claim that leading a dude around on a leash is torture. Tossing a bible in a toilet is torture. Geez. How cutthroat can you get? I guess liberal Bush haters never saw how Saddam tortured people--dripping acid on them, flaying them, hacking off their limbs, poking out their eyeballs and cutting out their tongues, lowering them slowly feet first into industrial shredders.
If waterboarding, dog leashes, and mock porno sessions are the best Bush could do, he's an amateur torturer and these stupid investigations are going to come up empty handed.
Why doesn't Obama first pen an Executive Order affirming the Fourth Amendment, immediately shutting down ALL domestic surveillance, getting rid of the Star Chamber judges, handing over their own records to the people who were spied upon? Undo the real damage from the Bush administration.
Anybody who thinks roughing up terrorists is worse than spying on US citizens is a crackpot, or a traitor.
Wouldn't a simpler solution be a black ops helicopter, a night-time round-up of the prime suspects, Dubya included, and an extraordinary rendition to a court that changed its rules on war crimes in the last eight years – like the Hague?
No muss, no fuss, and the USA finally becomes an example to the world regarding international co-operation…

Actually Terkoy, I can't hide it anymore, it was me. I'm the one that protected us against subsequent attacks. Okay, I wanted it to look like Bush, but you were too clever, you figured me out. Actually it wasn't just me, it was a lot of other people too-- I had a lot of help. We all pitched in, got together every couple of weekends, held hands and sang Kum By Ya a lot....
You know... you and your ILK go to a lot of trouble to try and convince people that UP is DOWN, WET is DRY, and BLUE is GREEN when actually UP is UP, WET is WET, and BLUE _IS_ BLUE (so fuck you too-- it rhymes, conveniently).
You can't prove a negative. For all you know it was the Los Angeles Lakers that prevented terrorist attacks on America for the last eight years.

How about the terrorists JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT? (Afterall, they DID bomb London and Madrid and a number of OTHER places around the country). Or perhaps they were just having TOO MUCH FUN IN IRAQ and didn't want to break away from the party... Maybe they were just BORED at tossing bombs at America. Perhaps they were too busy LAUGHING at the Bush admonistration's pitiful attempts to govern itself out of a wet paper bag? Maybe they were ASTONISHED that the Bush Admonistration was doing a FAR BETTER JOB of DESTROYING AMERICA than they ever could in their wildest WET DREAMS??? Maybe they've been AWESTRUCK by George Bush, "the Great Satan" and have been too overcome to act. Maybe they've been busy SCRATCHING THEIR HEADS for the past eight years wondering why if they attacked us from AFGHANISTAN, __WHY__ in the world we're attacking them back in IRAQ!!?!?!?!?!
Actually, it was Barbara Streisand who saved us all from terrorist attacks. They knew that one more thing-- anything at all-- and she'd give them "that look" (and sue them in civil court also for good measure).
