Obama's plans for probing Bush torture

President Bush could pardon officials involved in brutal interrogations -- but he may also face a sweeping investigation under the new president.

    legal precident

I would imagine that Obama would want to let sleeping dogs lie and let Bush and company slide nixon style for the sake of bipartisanship. Which is understandable and reconciliatory and etc. It would be diplomatic and could potentially show good will when he asks for across the aisle cooperation.

BUT I would also imagine that in the future, there will be Presidents and administrations of questionable morals and judgement, who might also want to torture, invade countries under false pretenses, use advanced computational systems to spy on the entire US population and etc. It would be great if these future administrations have an insentive for taking personal reponsibility. We live under rule of law for a reason. TO guard against tyrany and criminality.

SO Obama and the new administration MUST expose and presecute these crimes. It would show a *minimal* amount of competency. Anything less would be wildly irresponsible and would leave a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE state of affairs for future generations of Americans.
