I tuned in to Fox last night just in time to hear Fred Barnes’ diatribe against early voting, only to see it turn into a very funny moment (for all but Fred) when most of the panel asked him when he voted. Apparently Fred Barnes voted early via an absentee ballot. After making an awkward effort to join in on the fun, Fred clarified his position. He claimed he voted early for a legitimate reason; he wasn’t going to be in his home district on election day. He was against early voting merely for convenience. Apparently Fred doesn’t believe voting should be convenient, except for people like him. Sounds familiar.
under the War Powers Act, the Preemptive Perogatives Act, the Permanent Republican Majority Act, the Cheney Manifesto, and the Karl Rove Talking Points Directive that the Obama inauguration will be delayed or suspended indefinitely owing to excessive celebration throughout America and the Free World contributing to an "unfounded optimism leading to a weakening of our defense against terrorism".
I watched about 3 minutes of fox "news" last night which included the jaw dropping irony of hearing the words "appealed to the better angels of our nature" come from the mouth of the man whose entire pathetic existence has been dedicated to perfecting the black art of doing exactly the opposite. I would not have been surprised (or disappointed) to see him choke on those words and expire on the spot. But I take satisfaction in the fact that last night was very much about rejecting those tactics so, in a very real way, Rove had a big hand in getting Barack Obama elected.
Thank You Karl!
Please, please don't discount a really big issue just because you don't understand it. Last night brought tears to my eyes -- we did something right as a nation and something to be pround of. Just because we love Obama does not mean that card check is a good idea. And, make no mistake, its a really, really big deal. Right now, establishing a union requires an election where workers can vote as to whether they want the union to represent them. The NLRB makse sure that elections are fair. Card check requires nothing more than union organizers get worker signatures on a card. Any unit of workers can be organized. Consequently, all an organizer needs to do is get a majority of workers in a unit to sign cards. Card signature drives are not anonomous. Tremendous pressure can be placed on individuals to sign cards. No protections of a secret ballot exist. Labor's current proposal will change how we consider work and unions, but there is no discussion whatso ever and people just dismiss the issue because they don't understand it and don't think its a big deal. On this one, Fred Barnes is right -- it is a big deal.
...droning on about how Obama will be the most inexperienced, unknown, etc. etc.
Hey, Charles, give it a rest. And get some yourself. You look like death warmed over.
I did watch some Fox News while bouncing between CNN, PBS, Current TV, BET, Daily Show, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
I did not hear Juan Williams, and I am so glad you posted that video. It helps to know words of conciliation were being broadcast to people of various political persuasions.
You are officially irrelevant.
Good to hear that all of those bad things aren't going to happen. But I'm not so sure about the security of Israel. Also, why NOT make Cuba the 51st state?
Actually, I really don't see how Obama is going to ignore people like Wright, and other attendees of his church, that he was very close with for 20 years.
I think that it has been convenient, for the election, to just ignore everything that happened over the course of 20 years in Chicago's South Side ghetto. I think that we're going to be seeing a lot more than expected of his old and trusted friends during that period of time.
Obama has shown himself to be too arrogant, too divisive, and too much of a know-it-all. He also has virtually no executive experience whatsover. He has never had to meet a payroll or make a profit. He has been nothing but a Senatorial gasbag for most of his career. The speeches are marvy-pooh, if you like speeches (which I don't), but now it is time for action.

As I said yesterday about a different troll. It's nice to go through the nostalgia file one more time when we gave a shit what these ignoramouses had to say.
Oh, and how do those sour grapes taste today?
Hee hee, I just wanted to see that phrase again.
"Given the current Democratic dominance, can they function as a news outlet of nearly pure negativity? Will people watch hours and hours of that stuff every day? I can't see how they survive without serious changes."

Oh yes they will. It's like crack-cocaine. Angry white men- losers who's white skin is the only thing they have going for them, and who have no ability to understand why they are angry, live for this stuff.
They need their daily anger fix. AM Radio has been doing it for years. So has Fox. There's still a big market for it, and plenty of hustlers selling phony "male enhancement" products to buy ad time.
My favorite moment on Faux news occurred at close to 1 AM. They went to a celebration outside the White House, college students were jumping up and down, cheering and yelling. One kid was holding a sign that read, "Why wait, evict Bush now!", Brit Hume pointed the sign out, then stated "I am sure there are not many that actually feel that way". I almost choked, the look on his face was absolutely priceless!
Congratulations President Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!
[paraphrasing]can't imagine another country electing such an oppressed minority...
South Africa elected Mandela in 1994.
...But he sure as well was "oppressed"...

Neither Barack Obama, Jeremiah Wright or anyone else to whom you insinuate is from the South Side ghetto. I'm writing from Chicago and you're a liar.
I also note that this your second of two posts on this site, that you've never posted before today and dollars to doughnuts that you're just one of our beloved trolls who's enrolled under another name to continue your filthy spew.
Good luck with that.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
