I watched Fox News for five hours last night

As Obama's victory became undeniable, Brit Hume moved beyond grief and anger with Karl Rove. And Juan Williams justified his existence.

    More than meets the eye.

There’s a lot going on here, Andrew. IMHO Karl Rove is trying mighty hard to reinvent himself. A hopeless task. Billy Kristol is trying to cover his ass as he was one of the main cheerleaders for the Sarah Palin (and oh how Neiman Marcus is going to miss her) debacle.

But more important is the threat to Fox and Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch became an American citizen solely so that he could own television stations in this country. His heart seems to be with some sort of New World Media Order with him as chief propagandist. I don’t consider him a patriot. It is quite possible that a new Fairness Doctrine will be put on the table, and that would have Murdoch soiling himself, certainly. It would be really nice to see the Murdoch News Corp (and others) brought under strict regulation, even to the point of forcing him (or them) to sell off assets. He knows this and you watch as Fox drifts inexorably toward the center. You will see a lot less name calling and a lot more *fair and balanced* reports but we can never forget that under it all is a fascist who needs to be displaced or replaced. I’ve already started hounding my representatives to put a new Fairness Doctrine into play. One with teeth!
