Glad a previous poster and Rove brought up the "better angels of our nature" quote. It was Obama who appealed to the better angels of America's nature and never seemed to stoop to criticism of personalities. He did not criticize Palin's unwed pregnant teenaged daughter or expensive wardrobe or bring up her witch doctor clergyman. If McCain had run a campaign on a similar high note, the contest might have been closer. But it was McCain's lack of new ideas, choice of Palin and similarity to Bush that did him in.
It would behoove the entire country if we returned to the Fairness Doctrine. Once Reagan eliminated it, our country's media devolved into rudeness, lies and attack theater.
