a spoiled military brat who got away with crap that would have gotten any other Schmoe in the slammer for life. So he fooled the press for some of the time, till his darkness started to emerge in the bright glare of day. Maverick he is not. Hell, he is a self aggrandizing fool who failed his way to the top. No man of honor, he. Married a trophy wife for her youth and more importantly her wealth. Stayed away from her and Arizona for most of his political life and now has her look at him with stars in her eyes, whenever he is stumping around the red states. The last I know, he DID vote for torture with Bush in the last round. He is an unprincipled man and will blow with every wind. Time to close chapter and book on him after he is routed November 4th. Adios charlatan. Move on to be a mirage in the Arizona desert.
Army 6x6 is a telling sign of the politicization of the military brought about (likely by design) by the creation of the voluntary army.
In the '70s anti-war folks didn't stop to think that no draft meant more pro-war, i.e. Republicans, in the army. Now the officer corps identifies 80% with the Republican party.
Regardless, that may be a violation of UCMJ, not that anyone will spend more than a nanosecond worrying about, much less reporting it.
It happened in 2004 too, votes didn't match up with how people said in polls they were voting. And that wasn't racism, it was either election theft, or people who were simply too embarrassed to admit out loud that they were voting for Bush. I think there's plenty to be embarrassed of too. You have people out there who knowingly are voting based on single-issue wedge subjects and they can't defend it in rational discourse, so they don't bother and tell you they're voting for the non-idiotic choice, while doing what they want in the voting booth.
So get ready for massive fraud in the battleground states. I'd say the odds are 50-50 for an outright theft of the election. This is why McCain picked Palin and why he's not that worried. Because it doesn't really matter. And when the Supreme Court plops the crown on his head, he'll be king. For about a year. Then he'll step down for 'health reasons' and Sarah Palin becomes the President of the United States Christian Church of Jesus the Warrior and we become a totalitarian theocracy.
I would recommend you at least get your passports renewed before March.
Time to get over it. I'm not voting for B because he's an opportunist hack with no relevant experience. I think if anything, on balance he'll get more votes because of a racially-based black turnout and racially-based lefty sissy-boy turnout.
McCain is a blathering old man. He is an uninspired speaker and his campaign has been based on lies, hate and uh... more lies. Wake up, America!
AMEN SISTER!!!
When McCain is alone with himself and looking into the mirror, will he see that he somehow left his honor behind on the campaign trail?
I do give him credit for telling the lady in his audience, 'No ma'am, he is not an Arab. He is a decent family man whom I happen to have disagreements with.' I do give him credit for that.
If Gov Palin is thinking of running in 2012, the word 'hubris' comes to mind.
This nonsense about taxing the wealthy at a slightly higher percent (+3%, oh my!) being "unAmerican" and "socialist" is horse pucky.
During World Wars I and II, the tax rate among the wealthy was incredibly high (as much as 80 or 90%) and those tax rates only slowly declined as we moved into the 1980s. This is the first time we have run the nation into debt during wartime without asking more of those who have benefitted the most from living in this country, and McCain/Palin are trying to bamboozle us into thinking that to do so is wrong? I thought that this was about supporting the troops, at all costs?
During the last decade, the problem has been the concentration of wealth among the wealthiest as the middle class gets squeezed to death. Wages among the lower %80 have stagnated, falling behind inflation, increasing home costs and the amazing increases in production of the American. while we are all working harder for less (and more and more of us are slipping into the ranks of the working poor), the wealthy in America are the only group who have seen their wealth increase.
How? They've written the rules to favor themselves, and screw the middle class. that's OUR sweat they are cashing in on, and don't forget it!

The reason Obama supporters get so pissed off is that they have had to endure 8 long and painful years under the worst president in modern history, who seems to have no curiosity about the world or anything around him. I once heard him on the evening news with Brian Williams. They were walking through New Orleans a year after Katrina and Brian Williams asked Bush what he had been reading over the summer - a throw away question basically. Bush seemed to think hard by the expression on his face and then answered "Oh I don't know, Laura's got me reading two Shakespeares. WHAT? Two Shakespeares? Not two books by Shakespeare? It may seem a small thing, but the man is not articulate, he is an embarrassment and he has no idea about the rest of the world. He is like a bull in a china shop. Obama supporters see a man of grace and intelligence. We do not want another dumbass in the Oval Office. McCain is not very bright and has been in government for 26 years. I don't see that he is anything but a career pol who has sucked off the government teat for far too long. And from most of the McCain supporters I have encountered they only spew the same tired rhetoric they have been fed from Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. They can't make a decent argument about what McCain would do differently from Bush. They spew this tired crap with such pride. It is if they are proud of their ignorance - after all It got Bush elected more than once.

Good God what the hell are you talking about? What crazy right wingnut crap are you trying to sell? That Obama has hypnotized everyone who supports him? Well even though you may not be able to be hypnotized as you say, apparently you are not immune from the Kool-Aid that you right wingers partake of so frequently. Get off Salon and go back to your easy chair to watch Bill O'Reilly with the rest of the nutjobs.
