Socialism vs. Communism & Marxism & Obamism

Oh yes... and, Socialism is, of course, not Communism. But Socialism IS a pit-stop along the way to a Communist State, as Marx envisioned one. Never mind Communism is a utopian impossibility. Socialism, however, is not. In the twentieth century alone Socialism (not Communism, because Communism has never yet succeeded, or has ever really been tried on any wide scale such as a nation state), but Socialism, properly defined (i.e., a system wherein the State owns the means of production), has indeed been responsible for more mass killing than all the religious wars of the modern era combined (USSR, NAZI Germany [socialism based on race/ethnicity/national identity], Mao's China, Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge, Vietnam, North Korea, Saddam's Bath Iraq, &c.). The facts are indisputable, the bigger a Govt becomes, the more dangerous it becomes. A bit of socialism is okay, and perhaps desirable ( though there are private sector alternatives [read e.g., Alexis de Tocqueville's observations on voluntarism]). Socialism in Europe works because we taxpayers in the USA keep the world more peaceful than it would otherwise be. Europe can forego the expenses of military readiness. If we go bust, however, then Europe's already hard pressed social experiment will crumble. Obama has apparently been trained as a thinker sympathetic to Marxist ideology and socialist economic egalitariansm, packaged in his own insidious brand, and he's not at all what he pretends to be (based on his voting record), nor is he the kind of Change we need in the USA. We need less corruption not more. No Marxist, no Socialist for Pres in America!

Obama's party with Khalidi and Ayers

Susan Woods,

I know the party was for Khalidi. It was a going away bash they held when Khalidi was appointed to the newly endowed Chair of Islamic/ Mid East Studies at Columbia, in honor of that other hater of the West, Edward Said. I know, I know... for whom the party was thrown. But perhaps you don't know that Ayers was at that party, too. Now, if one isn't appalled by Khalidi's anti-Israel rhetoric, that's fine. Never mind, too, that they were all apparently yuk'n it up over some vial anti jew "poem". But, if Ayers was there, and the Big O was buddying up with him, claiming, as he has as of late that he had never cultivated such a relationship with that abhorrent man (you people may think that because he's now a professor he's an upstanding citizen, but his hate-filled speech shows otherwise), then that video is newsworthy, and if you don't care to see it, you're too stupid to engage with any further. You may get your man the Almighty O (read zero), but if you do, you'll only have your ideological, partisan hack, blind faith ignorance to blame.

And fuck all the Libertarians too

Seriously. Like a busload of Star Trek fans crashed into the John Birch society and did a ton of E. Hey everyone would like to smoke weed all day and watch midget cosplay porn. That doesn't make it a goddamn political movement.

@ Xrandadu Hutman: I disagree completely

My vote for the Green Party will not be flushing it away completely.

I live in Oklahoma. Obama has a 0% chance of winning this state. Were I to vote for Obama, the vote would count for nothing, as far as electing the president goes.

Yes, I understand it would make some difference in terms of mandate. But if I am going to vote for a mandate, I am going to vote for a mandate I actually believe in.

I have said this before: The Democrats suck. The only way to make the Democrats look good is to compare them to Republicans. How has that Democratic Congress played out since 2006? Pretty poorly, as far as I have seen. Rubber stamping the corporate agenda just as breathlessly as the Republican Congress did in the preceding years.

If I cannot have any direct influence on the outcome of the race, I am certainly not going to line up behind the Democrats merely because they are slightly less odious.

No, a vote for the Green Party is not a wasted vote. It will be thrilling to vote for something I believe in rather than something just slightly less dangerous and disgusting.

@Old Poor Richard

Old Poor Richard: "I'm voting for Green-Rainbow Cynthia McKinney. I don't agree with a lot of her views, but unlike Obama, she's sincere, not sinister."

Might as well flush your vote down the toilet.

In any case, your entire line of argument is full of misinformation. If you have to lie to make your case, your case is lost.

Flaming Fuck Yous from the Obama supporters

Wow, there's a lot of hatred out there, all coming from the Obama camp. Anybody dare oppose Obama--a big Fuck You. LOTS of anger.

Just like Bush was an anti-libertarian, likewise Obama is an even more virulent anti-libertarian. The fact is, government is dangerous. It's a necessary evil, but the bigger it is the more damage it does. And the size of the federal government is going to explode under an Obama regime.

I opposed Bush and now I oppose Obama. Because if I wanted 4 more years of a tax and wasting, domestic spying presidential administration, then I'd vote for Obama and Biden, who will continue in Bush and Cheney's footsteps in taxing, spending, controlling, and spying on Americans. Joe Biden boasts about writing the USA PATRIOT Act, he wrote it just after the OK City bombing but it went nowhere in the Senate until they could use 9/11 as a convenient excuse to push it through. It's all about spying on ordinary Americans, not about spying on foreigners or Muslims or whatever the fuck distraction. It's about listening to the phone calls and looking at the financial records of every honest American, whites, Arabs, blacks, Hispanics, everybody.

Furthermore, one place where Bush and Cheney did NOT go was in the area of suppressing the First Amendment protections of free speech. They stole our rights to free association by banning giving money or "aid" of any sort to supposed terrorist organizations, but they never tried to silence their critics. In fact, Cheney seems to be amused by his critics.

Obama reflexively and hysterically attacks his critics. I see him shutting down the First Amendment in several areas. Sending attack lawyers and the justice department against critics. New sedition laws. The end of talk radio. New anti-"hate" speech laws. It's going to get really bad.

In the Illinois senate, he voted to ban all semiautomatic firearms. That's 9/10 of the guns on earth. He has contempt for the 2nd Amendment similar to his contempt for the 1st Amendment.

I am liberal, Obama is not. I think people should be allowed to do whatever the hell they want. For example, get married when they're in love. He's a right wing kook when it comes to gay marriage, for instance.

Obama also supports the Pelosi/Bush bailout of Wall Street. Obama probably can relate to the coke-snorting reprobates running the finance system. He certainly isn't going to diminish their power or their profits, any more than Frank considered regulating his boyfriend's company Fannie Mae. They have never been further from a free market then they became under the Democratic Congress with Bush's help. They are corporatists hand-in-hand with the government, reminiscent of Mussolini's Italy.

Basically, Obama is pro-government. That's all he is. It's his reason for existence. Human beings mean nothing to him.

Obama slanders all of the Bill of Rights as "negative rights" as if they are somehow useless to him. He is a very intelligent Constitutional scholar. He studied it in order to find ways to subvert it.

He rejects the principles this country was founded on, looking to the failed policies of European countries as his warped guide. We don't need France's outrageous rate of unemployment or England's decrepit health care system or Germany's anti-religion and anti-free-speech laws.

I can't vote for a maniacal power hungry, government expanding, Bill of Rights crushing thug like Obama.

I can't vote for a Republican like McCain. I can't vote for a Republican like Bob Barr running on the Libertarian Party ticket. Right now I would vote for fucking anarchy. I'd rather see no government with everyone fending for themselves, than a Pelosi/Biden/Obama regime of mean, crazy people ruling this place.

Obama cultists like to say people voting against him are "brainwashed" by fearmongers as if they can't think for themselves. Well I can think for myself and I am my own fearmonger.

I'm voting for Green-Rainbow Cynthia McKinney. I don't agree with a lot of her views, but unlike Obama, she's sincere, not sinister.
